So yeah, I decided to start The Night Circus. What a trippy read! Each chapter skips between times and characters (even changing the point of the view to the reader at times). It's definitely a treat so far! Can't wait to see how everything and everyone ties together.

Let's see I finished 5 ot of the 6 Star Wars Republic Commando books (sadly the 6th and final book was cancelled) and I also started the Star Wars Legends series which I'm on the 4th book now. I'm currently on the Star Wars hype train for December so what better way to get more excited by reading the lore and Expanded Universe?

I'm sure once I see the new movie I'll go back to reading other stuff lmao.

Just read Magnus Chase the sword of summer by Rick Riordan, it was a pretty good read. I love mythology!

I'm busy reading the Odyssey by Homerus.

On the one hand, it's refreshing to read something that isn't pomo, frankfurt-school-inspired schlock.
On the other hand, GODDAMN is it hard to get through.

I'm currently into zombie and alien novels. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey is a really interesting, realistic take on what would happen if aliens were to invade Earth in today's society.

I'm nearly done with it and it's fantastic.

I just finished the Wright Brothers by David McCullough. Amazing how to bike mechanics produced their airplane. Great story of hardwork and perseverance.

I just finished reading A Dollhouse to Die For by Cate Price. Pretty good read. I always enjoy a good mystery book! Now about to read Beach Girls by Luanne Rice = )

Yeah, I'm planning on seeing it. And that's lame :| but hopefully the movie stays with the book, because the book was really great.

I'll be reading The Orphan Master's Son. It was highly recommended to me by a few friends of mine, and I'd like to read it in preparation for my trip to North Korea in the winter. It's weird to think that I'll have to delete my copy of it before my entry into the country, though... hopefully the book doesn't change my mind about this trip!

Currently reading Unjust A Memoir by Patricia Elspeth Burns
Its actually a book written by my friend's mom about the murder of her brother. I would recommend it especially if your interested in crime, justice, and Canada.
It makes me angry at times though. This was given to me after others had spoken about their unfair court rulings when dealing with crime coming from a victims perspective.
Anyway, Canada's justice system blows.

I just finished Every Day, and today I started another day. It's okay. The book kept my attention, it's just not one of my favourites.

I started the Shadow Ops series by Myke Cole with his prequel, then i read the actual books afterwards. I like to do everything chronologically. Now i await for the second book of the prequels.

In a nutshell; Magic returns to the world and is used in warfare, if you come up Latent (manifesting in magic) then the government comes for you. Turning yourself in is a better option than running essentially. It's a nice action packed series, and i'm a sucker for anything to do with magic/fantasy lol.

I'm re-reading "Brightness Reef", the first book in David Brin's second Uplift trilogy. Absolutely fantastic series, and I'm especially fond of the blend of ancient galactic level tech and pseudo-steampunk level stuff. I'll finish off the trilogy when I'm done, "Infinity's Shore" and "Heaven's Reach". I'm kind of surprised that I have very little recollection of what happens. Oh well, I'm having a great time being alternately surprised an suddenly reminded.

Next after that I think I'll re-read "Changer" by Jane Lindskold, if I still have it. If not I might re-read "The Practice Effect" by David Brin.

I'm reading the Twilight series right now. I'm on the third book now, I'm also reading the second book of Every Day cslled "Another Day". It's by John Green and I honestly am not that big of a fan. I think the stories a bit too strange...

I am currently reading Death at SeaWorld: Shamu and the Dark Side of Killer Whales in Captivity. I haven't gotten too far into the book. I started reading it a few weeks ago while I was trying to finish the Hunger Games series. Death at SeaWorld goes more in depth than the documentary Blackfish. :3

The Governator by Ian Halperin, it's a book about Arnold Schwarzenegger..his early childhood, going to America and all the way to him becoming Governor of the State of California. I like reading about Arnold's insights and ways of thinking.

Just completed the Star War's Jedi Academy with my son. It was a pretty good read with him and funny at times.

Just finished Hosseini's "The Kite Runner". I don't normally like required reading, but this is a novel that I think should be mandatory reading for every school in the States. It gives you a view of Afghanistan that you really can't get anywhere else, and it's willing to get into the nitty-gritty stuff without trying to gloss over it or avoid the subject entirely. It's just a great story about redemption, conflicting morals, and trying to overcome personal struggles that exists within the war-torn reality of Afghanistan. I do not have words to describe this novel. It's a fairly short read too, so I definitely recommend it. My class read it over the course of a month during our unit, but I probably could have finished this novel in roughly 2-3 hours.
