Oh pfft. It doesn't make it all interesting when they downsize a ridiculously oversized Pokemon to that size. It should be that big as a representation of its overwhelming power. Taking something like that down would make it all the more awesome.

Lapras already has a base stat total of 535...that's quite high. An evolved Lapras will probably approach Dragon- or legendary-tier in terms of base stat total.

And also what does everyone think of the fact that it takes longer for pokemon to evolve?

Well, as for one that finished the game already, yeah it kind of balanced it out and it made it more fun, as to put more effort into it.

they probably want to avoid abuse of transferring, which I'm sure everyone does lol
but yea, like the above post said, now you have to put slightly more effort into the new game, which is not a bad thing in my opinion

I don't particularly mind; actually I kinda like it. I wasn't very fond of them evolving so early on to gain new powers and what not. It made leveling them up afterwards a bit of a chore. Shooting for their evolutions in this manner makes it much more bearable as something to look forward to.

Siggy asked me this on MSN so might as well post it for those who might have the same question;

If you wanna transfer your Pokemon, do the following. Just be warned...You can't transfer them back.

1)
You will have to go to a facility called Pokeshifter. What you do first is beat the Elite Four and capture Zekrom (if you're playing White) or Reshiram (Black). The, you'll wake up in your home and Looker will upgrade your Pokedex to national Pokedex and he'll give you a rod. (There's only one rod in the game and Looker from Sinnoh will give it to you).

2)
After the above, you can now go to the version-exclusive area. Fly to Raimon City (the city where Pokemon Musical stands), then go at the upper right exit. You'll go to the version-exclusive area. In White, it's White Forest, and Black City in Black. There you'll be beginning to find some Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh Pokemon. Remember those Rattata and Pidgey? In BlackWhite, you are annoyed with Minezumi, Chillarmy, Basurao, but you'll sure miss Pidgey, Rattata (there's no Magikarp unless you buy one from the man in the bridge).

3)
After the version exclusive areas, you'll exit into a canyon-like feature and you have to go across a building. That's Pokeshifter. A scientist would shout at you and tell you that he's excited about his new invention, and he wants you to be the first one to use it. He'll tell you you have to insert a Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum or HeartGold/SoulSilver card in another DS and launch its infrared or wi-fi and you'll start to transfer Pokemon.

If you want to obtain older pokemon from previous gens, you can always rely on action replay, lol.

Probably because of the abyssal difference in level.
