Favorite Fonts?

What are some of your favorite fonts? I'm sure everyone has one. Mine are probably Century Gothic, Helvetica, and Asinine. I don't really like a lot of fonts with serifs. D:

Depends on the media. Sans serif looks good on screen, serif looks good in print.

Comic sans always looks like crap and should die in a fire.

ill go for Eras Demi ITC it always looks good and is fairly bold

Monotype Corsiva. It's slanted and a bit curly, but not so much that you can't read it. It's really legible. I mostly use that for poems, vocab, and personal use.

Otherwise, Times New Roman in 14 point

Jokerman and Gothic are both pretty cool...and maybe the classic Comic Sans.

I know, right? it looks horrible even in a design, I guess unless you know how to use it ... even then, it's just really unattractive and noobish looking.

Matisse is up there with Comic sans.

I've seen it in the most horrible places. I took a programming class where the teacher set his code editor to use comic sans. I've seen it in official documents. ARGH! Death to comic sans, I say!

Papyrus needs to meet a similar fiery demise.

I ticked a teacher off once by using that font. He said any font was fine as long as it was readable. What he didn't know was that five pages in a bad font gives one a headache. For that reason it's my favorite font.

Although I find it overused, I still think Helvetica is a nice font.
Besides that I fancy Garamond, Times and Calibri I guess.

Also, I find it funny that a lot of people are saying that Comic Sans sucks without really knowing why it sucks. A friend of mine for example who knows nothing of designing, because he studies law (or something), said: "Yeah, Comic Sans is a bad font!"
I asked him why. He couldn't answer it, except with a "because it's like that."
Just my two cents. Some fonts are not bad because 90% of the population says they're bad.

Well, I dislike Comic Sans because it looks kind of cartoony and childish. That's not a bad thing if you're designing something where it fits, but otherwise, it just doesn't really look good on anything else.

Not to mention it's irregular, and therefore hard to read. As a general rule of thumb, picking a "funky" font is never a good idea. Ever. You don't want to attract attention to the design, you want to attract attention to the contents by designing it in an appealing fashion. Picking comic sans attracts attention to the design, at the cost of attention to the contents.
