Brad Pitt should have at least been nominated for his performance as Aldo Ray.

Also surprising Avatar did not win Best Picture(I haven't seen it yet).

I'm not surprised Up (Disney's Pixar) had a few awards in there. Not to mention Steve Jobs half operated Pixar, so behind that award is that genius. When is that guy ever going to stop? lol

    I actually liked Sandra Bullock.
She looks a lot younger than she's ever been in the last few years
but last night she was stunning.

go sandra bullock! loved The Blind Side. hands down, one of my favorite movies of all time

Up was great too. really funny and touching. i'm surprised with the awards it won. the soundtrack i didn't really find all that amazing. it was good, but not quite as good as most of Disney's soundtracks.

Well... Steve Jobs may have sorta helped in creating whichever software they use... but "Up" isn't a good animated film because of the software. It's good because it has a good plot, meaningful characters, and decent comedy that isn't reduced to fart-jokes so many children's films have today.

I wouldn't exactly give any sort of credit to ol' Steve for "Up" anytime soon.

I undertsand what you mean. I was somewhat confused too until I realised what an excellent soundtrack Up had that complimented the film perfectly (Which is what a soundtrack should do). If you watched the film with zero soundtrack, obviously it's bland. However it's surprising how much a simple piano key can influence the mood of the scene so much... which is why it won best soundtrack.

It was either Up, or Avatar imo

Edit: However, I'm unsure on why "Hurt Locker" had a nomination in the Soundtrack department... serious favoritism I'm seeing there.

I went ahead and looked up "Sound Mixing" in the internet and it's interesting that theres just SO MANY things that needs to be done before a movie comes out for public viewing entertainment. I know one person who majored in Journalism and Media Films says that there SHOULD BE a lot more categories than the posted above but keeping the Oscars on a short amount of time is crucial.

I'd expect a lot of movies to flatten Avatar honestly.

Sure, Avatar looked pretty...But that's all it had going for it.
It was pretty to look at.

The story was just...Pochohantas in space with Cat People instead of Native Americans.

im not sure if youve heard of Rotten Tomatoes but basically it is a website that gathers reviews from various sources and averages them out into a percentage e.g

    Avatar-84%
    The Hurt locker- 97%
    Zombieland-89%

okay i know zombieland wasnt up for any oscars but it should have been- Great movie
