Blood Red Sun
I Hate to see the blood red sun go down.
Know there'll be trouble if I go to town.
Can't help myself, I'm just pulled that way.
Perhaps, ask forgiveness another day.
I walk in the shadows, don't want to be seen.
Don't want anyone to know where I've been.
Could be a scuffle, could be a fight,
blood is going to be spilled tonight.
Skin is crawling there's an ache in my head.
Everything in view is a sea of red.
Joints are aching, my skin is getting tight.
Have to move on through this terrible night.
Senses are keen, I smell fear in the air.
Woman is walking with long, flowing hair.
Scent of her skin, the scent of her fear,
fur rises on my neck, soon I'll be near.
Ragged breathing catches in her throat.
She is chilled with fright and buttons her coat.
That won't help because I'm lying in wait.
She sees her home, but won't reach the gate.
I approach on all fours from her right
and pounce from behind, she's unable to fight.
Drag her to the bushes, tighten my grip.
She's barely conscious and begins to slip.
Her body lies on the cool, evening ground,
breathing is shallow as she comes around.
Claws at her throat if she attempts to scream.
I savor the moment, it's like a dream.
Lips are parted and her eyes open wide.
Throat is exposed and its red, pulsing tide.
Sink my teeth into her warm, perfumed skin.
Feast on her flesh, feel the warmth spread within.
Sit back and listen to leaves on the trees
rustling as I slowly rise to my knees.
Move on tonight to another town.
Hate to see the blood red sun go down.
