The new or old PSP?

The Old Models Are Better In Every Way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The PSP is easy to fix (for me) plus the game libary is so huge!!!!!!! and it doesn't break easily my family drops my PSP almost Everyday in fact just exactly 12 minutes ago my sister dropped it not a scratch besides poeple must know about the PSP GO!!!!!!!

I bet he means that older = better in some ways, i am still looking for an adapter to Nintendo 8-Bit, greatest game's ever, still have many Link, Zelda and Super Mario games. <3

Well I believe the older psp's were more durable and were easier to fix on your own if you knew what you were doing. Also the lack of a UMD tray really turned me off of the psp go. I would rather buy a game used for cheaper than pay a more expensive set price for the same game.

Actually the PSP go has some marketing flaws and the market didn't react favorably.

PSP go's marketing flaws:

• High initial price (now $200 for the white model)
• Lack of UMD support
• Smaller screen
• Less battery life

Despite that, I like it and will be getting one soon.

let us all not forget that if you change the battery on this one you instantly void your warranty. and that this little thing is incompatible with any other PSP cables and accessories, i.e. your memory pro stick duo...

i can say i opted for the PSP 3000 over the go...

Eh, my fiance has a PSP but didn't want it again. The games, except for 3 or 4 good ones, are silly anyway. And I already have a portable DVD player (AND my laptop).

I'm glad they got rid of UMD's, they sound horrible when they load plus a few of my games literally fell apart, but downloading games isn't a better alternative since most PSP games are crap I need to be able to trade in so I at least get some money back.

and it doesn't break easily

I dropped my PSP 3000 once on a carpeted floor and the screen cracked about a month before my battery burned out for no obvious reason.

Well, haven't tried the new PSP yet so I have to say the old one since I had it back in 06.

The old psp seemed to be the most durable out of the different ones. The UMD trays on the newer models were supported by a thin metal bar hooked onto nubs so that was a bit flimsy. I also hear lots of things about the batteries popping out on the 2000 and 3000s. I dropped my original psp and it never broke. Now that thing could take some damage.

I know this is off topic, but as far as handhelds go the DS is where it is at. And this is from someone who owns both.
The PSP has good games, and so does the DS, but the DS isn't hampered by a lowly battery life, long load times or awful UMD noises.
So in that aspect the PSP go is an improvement, but they should have included an accessory for transfering UMD games to the PSP go. What am I supposed to do with my UMD collection?

I didn't care too much for the ds but then again a psp was more of what I was looking for. I was never too fond of touch screens. And I agree about the go needing a way to transfer your umd's.

You need to check out the DS again.

1. Not all games use touch screen.
2. Many games use the touch screen in innovative ways.
3. Best library of any handheld, especially if you are into JRPGs.

I own the ds it's just that like I said it wasn't what I was looking for. I also prefer the psp due to it being more of an all around system like I wanted and I prefer the games on psp. Since I do use the psp for web browsing, mp3's and carrying files around and I really feel like a dsi would be a waste of my money.

I guess so, depends on the games you like, though the DS has every genre covered and then some.
What games do you have for your PSP?
I mainly play JRPGs and the DS has order of magnitudes more of them than PSP, though I also have some for the PSP, just not as huge a collection as DS, and the inadequate battery life and long load times doesn't help the PSP much.

Though web browsing is one reason you shouldn't be using the PSP, I have one and it is awfully slow, there are better portable devices with better browsing capabilities.

The DSi is awesome, I'll be getting one and a PSP go this summer. I figured since by then a DS2 would probably have been announced and maybe even PSP2, I can get them cheap and enjoy what's left of this generation of handhelds before upgrading to DS2 and PSP2.

On psp I get mostly imported games ranging from any in the gundam series to Miku Hatsune: Project Diva. I was never one for JRPG's and will admit that while the psp isn't the best web browser it does what it must. I don't play much but do think it does what it must at a perfectly acceptable pace. I'm not too judgmental on the system as long as it lasts me a while and keeps coming out with good games I'm happy with it.

I got a PSP 1000 series. I accidently left it on the hood of a car, and after driving around for a bit I remembered where I put it. And to my surprize it was still there. I tried to slowly stop but it slid off, hit the road, bounced, went to the side of the road, and stopped there. My road is made of tar and gravel and the sides are just gravel. Its scrached good, but I had a screen cover on it, so the screen is fine, the buttons scratched but still fine. The only thing that really sucked is my battery cover dissapeared. It wont play without something to keep the battery in, But I fixed that and it still works fine. I use it as a MP3 player for the most part.

I guess it is time for you to get a PSP-3000.
But if you mostly use it as a PMP you are better off with an iPod touch.
