Does anyone miss the old Nickelodeon? You know, the good 'ol days. The 90's. Angry Beavers, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Invader Zim, AAAAHHHH Real Monsters!, CatDog, and Are you afraid if the dark? Ah, the memories of childhood.


I can't believe what's passing off for kids shows on Nick these days. The only decent show is Spongebob. Ever since the end of 2002, Nick has gone downhill Blech, Cartoon Network also lost a lot of appeal. The old shows were classic!

And yes, I'm 18 and still watch cartoons sometimes.

Spongebob is barely a decent cartoon compared to Ren and Stimpy, or King Krab (from which, by the way, Krusty Krab was made).
Cartoons today are so utterly insipid, senseless, unfunny, boring and cheaply animated. Coincidentally, kids today are just as tasteless, unwitty, dull and uninspired. Almost as if somebody has been plotting to make the whole world stupid, but that's just ridiculous to assume, don't you think?

i miss old Nick. nicktoons revived some of the classics, but then it just started rerunning spongebob. and cartoon network used to be great with flintstones, jetsons, huckleberry hound, old scooby doo, ed, edd, n eddy, and others.

i miss my old cartoons. rocko was great and ren and stimpy made me laugh so much. my favorites are gone and it's depressing. i wish i could get rid of iCarly and bring back angry beavers cause even fighting beavers are better than most of the crap that fills nick's cartoon block....

oh and my older sister's 32 and she watches spongebob and her favorite movie is toy story. don't feel bad about still liking cartoons Hideki

Hell yeeaaah I miss the old Nick -.-'' (I too still watch cartoons sometimes) Nickelodeon should have another sister channel that's all older Nick shows and cartoons, mostly what was around during the 90's of course. They could call it NickClassics or something! =D

Spectacular Spider-Man was actually going really well. about ten times better than the 90's series.
Sure the designs were kind of meh, but the animation was fluid, and the story was solid.
Good thing they canned it after two seasons on a cliffhanger like they did with Sonic SATAM. I'd be super pissed if they continued one of the few new cartoons that wasn't a big steaming pile.
Ah well. Sniktbub and the Bubbettes is still going strong, even if some of the redesigns are crap, I can't accept steve blum doing Wolverine, and some of it is way too DRAMA! and not enough MUTANTS! It also drags a little. We'll see.

Also, Chowder and Flapjack.
But they already canned one of those too. FML.

who doesn't miss them they were epic! no BS.cartoons keep getting lamer and lamer. as i watch my nieces and nephew i see these new cartoons are dumb. and Spongebob is overrated, But that's the only one i can stand watching and like it. lol

I loved old Nickelodeon. I used to love watching "Salute your Shorts", "Are you Afraid of the Dark?" and my favorite "The Secret World of Alex Mac". I loved these tv shows. I don't really watch Nick anymore seeing as how I'm too old for what's being aired now, but I did like that "Avatar: The Last Airbender".

Old Nickelodeon? *wips out cane* Old Nickelodeon for me was pre-nicktoons. Shows like "You Can't Do That on Television" and "Don't Just Sit There." Hey, this may blow your minds, but did you know Nickelodeon used to play japanese animation? That's right, it was called "Grims Fairy Tales Classics." They used to also play Duckula and BeetleJuice. There was also Noozles and the Adventures of the Littles Koala. Heathcliff as well as David the Nome. That is old school Nickelodeon for me.

However, these days, I can honestly say I do not like whatever show comes from Disney, Nick, or Cartoon Network (I tolerate Adult Swim, Spongebob, and Penguins of Madagascar). Hannah Montana? Miley Cyrus? The Jonas Brothers? Ridiculous. All of them.

I wasn't much of a Nick fan when I was young but , like Cartoon Network, it's gone downhill fast. I remember watching classics like Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, I Am Weasel, The Powerpuff Girls, Mike, Lu & Og, Courage the Cowardly Dog and entire Toonami lineup on CN. Those were the days.

Like Bibi said, the only recent original cartoon from either channel I liked was Avatar.

Yeah i know what you mean. Back when i was a kid i watched cartoons the whole day. Before school, after school and all the way till bedtime. Ahh those were the days. First it was only cartoon network with dexter's lab, twisted tales of felix the cat, the flintstones, scooby doo, popeye and the powerpuff girls.
Then disney channel came and wow i forgot what was on at that time but i loved DC. Then nickelodeon came along and there was all that, kenan and kel, hey arnold, the rugrats....wow these shows were great! I mean...it was my childhood. My love for cartoons and tv.....

I barely watch television nowadays and i am disappointed with the kind of cartoons they come up with. It's like they're trying to make it cool but in the end its just stupid. Oh well, adults are stupid too for watching reality tv.

I actually liked Drake and Josh. It was the sort of slapstick comedy that was decently funny. The problem with iCarly is it's not funny. It just makes absurd humor (that Drake and Josh has) and just throws out references that aren't funny.

Blame Nick on the children. Kids don't watch cartoons anymore. They'd much rather watch TV shows with ACTUAL people in relationships.

Double Dare was the stuff!
I remember coming home from school and turning my tv set on.
DD was was then followed by Legends of the Hidden Temple.
My sister and I would pick which players are going to win when the show started.

I always wanted to be on Double Dare. Those kids always won some cool stuff it seemed.

Same with Nick Arcade. I forgot about that. couple years ago I noticed one of the Nick channels was showing old Nick Arcade episodes at like 2am and I would watch them. They were so corny. But it was cool seeing them play old NES, Genesis, TurboGrafx-16, and Neo-Geo games on it.

And it wasn't on Nick I don't think, but the game show Fun House with J.D. Roth was always cool too. I remember when they had celebrity ones and the girl who played Darlene on Roseanne on it, and one time the girl who was the Small Wonder too.

Pretty much now the only time Im watching TV is when Spongebob (although now Im not exactly liking the new episodes) is on. But yeah, I totally miss the old Nick! Invader Zim, Rocko's Modern Life, All That, Ren & Stimpy..... *sigh* Good times, good times.

op- it's not just nick, american television as a whole has gone way down hill in the last ten years. its sad. but if it wasn't for the decline of american television i never would have come across anime on my never ending search to be properly entertained. so i guess thats a good thing

Surprisingly a lot of americans are tuning in on Korean/Japanese/Chinese/Filipino drama. My whole platoon was hooked onto "Maging Sino Ka Man". They searched endlessly in youtube/foreign websites to finish one season. But me, I was into the whole anime thing.

heh, actually a few months ago I went over to a friends to help him get rid of his old couch and him and his wife are watching and all into one of the korean drama's that comes on tv here. Neither of them are even Korean.
