You're the whisper in the wind
You're the breeze between my hair
You're the blanket that keeps me warm
And I know you'll always be
You're the ground beneath my feet
You're everything that's pure and sweet
You're everything around me

You're the happiness that pours out of me from day to day
The calmness that shows beyond my insolence
The sunshine shining down
The stars in the sky leading to heaven
The tears that fall from the memories unforgotten
You're everything that's pure and sweet
You're everything around me

You're the one that will be missing at my wedding
A part of me that reflects in the mirror
A ring that beams from my mothers finger
A nearby cry heard through the walls
A love so grievously broken
You're everything that's pure and sweet

Oh, wow.
While reading the last stanza,
I was absolutely positive I was going to cry.
Not sure why, it just made me very sad.

It was a great read,
and I like how the last two lines were repeated each time.

I'm sorry about your father,
but you're strong so I'm sure you'll be okay. ^^

thats a really great poem, sad too. No more happy ones? D: But yeah, really touching one about your father. Its nice you wrote a poem after him. Every part of that poem was just great, I'm jealous of your talent, haha, but seriously keep up the great work. I shall be waiting on your next poem.

If it's able to touch someone's heart enough to make them sad as well,
even if it didn't happen to them, then it truly is a great piece of work.
Or, that's what I believe at least.
