Every representation I've seen of Jesus was of a man with brown hair and eyes. Now, there are people in Israel, in Egypt, in Iran, etc. that have fairer skin and brown hair. They don't all look the same.
And really, who cares what the man looked like. If you follow him, he could turn out to be Samuel L. Jackson and I think you'd still follow him.

That 6-foot tall white guy with perfectly chiseled abs and facial hair reminiscent of most if not all members of Lynyrd Skynyrd is just an artistic depiction. There are TONS of different looking Jesuses in the catholic religion alone, from your default southern rocker dude to asian and black.

That's because younger people, who make up the majority of our members, tend to have liberal political views, or identify as Democrats. Gallup and Rasmussen should back my statement up if need be.
As my AP Government class would place me, I am moderate. I am Republican on some issues and Demoncratic on others. It's been proven that most Americans today fall in the lines of moderation. It's rare that one finds a complete Republican on all issues and vice versa.

Right now the largest and best vetted polls will show that there are more self-described conservatives in the United States than self-described "liberals"/progressives, and there are more self-described moderates/centrists than either group. This is why doing homework on a subject you want to argue passionately about is important.

When the runner up has 7 votes, that is way ahead. Though the reason the democrats are ahead in this poll is most likely because from an international standpoint, they are less alien. The republicans' politics, especially their religious views, exist at best as small eccentric fringe parties in most non-american political systems. And that is also their most visible politics. The results would probably look a lot different if the votes was for the economical policies of the respective parties.

None of the above. The world of politics is, in my opinion, a world of madness and uncertainty; thus, until I find a party that actually lives up to the expectations of the people that it is supposed to represent, I shall keep myself out of it.

To expand on this; the liberals of today are the conservatives of tomorrow. Most people's views change little over the course of their life, (though there are those who have more dramatic shifts, but this is uncommon). Since younger people are usually more liberal, the older the person gets the more conservative they appear in comparison to younger people. My parents were probably seen as very liberal in comparison to their grandparents, but these days would be seen as moderately conservative; even though their views haven't really changed.

It is not the most... exciting read. Information heavy and you'll need to pace yourself and dedicate some time to really understanding it (meaning, rereading sections/chapters, employing an army of sticky-notes, etc.). If you have little to no background knowledge in the role of oil and religion on politics, or basic economics, I recommend having a Wiki-like resource available for easy reference.
Eris, the strangeness of most Republican "positions" is partly why I mentioned earlier the fact that this poll on an international forum with a strong international presence is especially meaningless for trying to draw conclusions about American politics. For what it's worth, I don't think it would look very different voting for just the economic policies; I'd wager fewer people here are willing to get down to brass tacks about economics than they are overgeneralized political talking points. The main difference we'd likely see is fewer voters in an already small sample.

I vote Democrat because I don't like the Republican party, not because I love the Democratic party. Voting for a third party is pretty pointless in America, unfortunately.

The number of people isn't the problem, it's the population. The people who voted in this poll are not 30 randomly selected people, but 30 people out of a specific demographic. 30 randomly selected people would characteristically not deviate this much from the result, the same way flipping a coin 16 times would not characteristically yield 12 heads and 4 tails. It could of course happen, but it is not what one would expect.

I'm a psych major who plays with statistics regularly. You could say I'm familiar with the ins and outs of samples and populations. I was trying to make a point without being especially technical.
