Bomb scare. Did it ever happen to you?

There was a bomb threat at my college recently. No lie, it was two days ago and I'm just receiving the e-mail informing me.

It was false though, nobody found nothing.

It was false though, nobody found nothing.

Why did they take it seriously? If someone really wanted to bomb someplace, isn't it at least a bit odd to inform the place they're gonna bomb? If they say they don't want innocent people to get hurt, you laugh at them, call them a nincompoop and say that they shouldn't be planting bombs if they don't want to hurt people, and that they ought to remove their bomb before it goes off.

I remember back when I was in 4th grade we got one of those. They closed the school down for about an hour looking, but nothing came up. And this was a tiny school in a small town in Nevada, so it was probably just some weirdo. Not sure if they ever caught the guy who sent the threat though.

My dads work place had a bomb scare once. Nothin found. There never is, I head about a bomb threat and a school shooting yesterday, nothings happened.

When I was still in High School we had a bomb threat. They evacuated us to a LDS church about 750 ft away from the school. Strangely, there are multiple natural gas lines running between the high school and the middle school, which are both on the same street. It seems to me like anyone ready to bomb a high school would have been smart enough to rig the charges to blow both schools. Maybe I'm just cynical like that, but anyway, the middle school wasn't evac'ed.

We got that also at my old high school. Of course it was false, it was somebody's idea of a senior prank but it wasn't that funny. Our gym period got extended for about 2 more hours so it wasn't that bad we just played ultimate frisbee until our teacher got annoyed and took the frisbee away telling us to be serious.

Today at my school, we are under code yellow lockdown. Some kid threatened to shoot up the school. He was banned from campus, students are only to be in hallways during class changes and the doors have to be locked at all times unless its between classes. Oh, and there are police EVERYWHERE right now.

When I was in high school, we had the riot gates (big metal gates in the lower floor of the school) shut and locked for no given reason, effectively trapping everyone taking the shop and band classes in the basement for an hour and a half. The school's lucky nothing really happened, otherwise that would have been terribly tragic and hard to pass off as an oversight.

There was a bomb threat once in my elementary... Me and two of my friends were the ones who made the call. Anyway, that's when these idiots finally decided it was a good idea to take some security measures, so the next attempt would be pretty much useless.

it happens in every school, every week at my school someone would pull the fire alarm, twice a year there was a bomb scare it seemed

I've gotten plenty of them at my other highschool. Maybe three in one year? They were all tricks though but one of them did get us the whole day off of school.

i really wasnt scared at al people were freaken out like retarded
i never really worry about anything when it comes to stuff like that it just doesnt phase me
i always have a sense that everythings gonna be alright so no need to worry

There was a bomb threat at the walmart I worked at in college. We evacuated the place and were all clustered by the TGI Fridays across the lot. Most of the customers left. People kept driving up asking us if we were open, ignoring the police cars, fire trucks and swat vehicle or whatever that was sitting directly in front of the doors.

We took our vests off and went into Fridays for a few beers.

Aha, Mr. Nobody! Did you by any chance plant a bomb in the school and purposefully look for it so that no one would suspect you?

Anyways, while a bomb scare has not occured to me, I would take it seriously. I imagine that if a bomber called in, that would mean he really doesn't want to do it. Just like a suicide victim that tells a friend before s/he commits suicide, might not want to do it.

I've had been in two bomb scares. The one Lola mentioned, and one the other morning at my school, which turned out to be false...though stupidly, the school didn't close down the area around the bomb scare, because I was about 30 feet away while I was in a classroom.
