Does your internet persona - The image you've created for yourself on the Internet - match your "actual personality".
Or do you tend to assume characteristics that you do not frequently exhibit in real life?

Things that could contribute to your online image would be stuff like your: Avatar, Signature, Font color, grammar/syntax, emoticons, and of course the content of your post and the manner in which they are made.

For example, I use a lot of smiley face expressions on the internet, but when in a face-to-face conversation I rarely change expressions.

I'm not really sure if this really makes for a good discussion, but I'm a bit curious, and at the very least it's something to think about (See, there's the smiley face )

i'd say my persona fits my online persona

just as crazy, my friends call me "the jack the lad" cos im always doing these crazy things and coming out with one liners that makes everyone laugh....cant help it

Not at all for me. It's quite the opposite actually...Irl I'm completely silent, and a lot smarter than I act on the interwebs. I'm kind of mean sometimes too. I'm still pretty obsessive over Nintendo, though I don't talk much so I don't really defend and promote them as much as I do here.

In my own opinion I act pretty similar online as I do in real life. But, I think pretty much anyone would say that, and the only real method of determination here would be to get the opinion of someone who knows you both offline and online.

i don't feel the need to be different online from offline....
i am a seriously happy person on which attitude depends on the mood and the situation...
though a lot of people say that i am good at keeping my emotions in control when i am mad and gushing when i am happy...
one time i was genuinely happy i was reprimanded from putting lots of smileys on my post and called it unnecessary and stupid...
blimey... anyway.... never mind that..
now, i try to moderate that...

Well, just in general, I guess my "persona" on the Internet would be the same in real life. A few minor differences. I talk more in real life than I do here, and am actually a little less open.

With me, what you see is what you get. I don't believe in being someone I am not whether it be the internet or real life. I couldn't keep up a whole fake personality anyway. XD I don't need to act different or lie about who I am. I am a little quiet or shy, but at the same time I don't let people walk on me. That is me both online and off.

I'm pretty much the same, being shy at times and hyper at others. I'm more shy (and hyper) in person, though, and I tend to be less opinionated offline (since I don't give a flying pig's butt what people I've never met think of me). I am more critical offline, though. And assertive about it, too. And I'm more cynical. I'm mostly the same, though.

People tell me that I'm more negative in my offline. I tend to say much less online than I do off because near everything I say online comes out sounding wrong when I go into detail. Other than that its the same.

I think I'd have to say that my online persona is how I want to express myself in real life but because of societies views I have to repress most of it to be accepted by most people, I can't be going around meowing can I? Although I do around my close friends Lol. Meow o.o

Really, it depends on the day. My online personality (if I even have one) can be completely random. Sometimes I'm happy and sometimes I'm sad. Although, I could be acting happy when I'm actually sad or I could be acting sad when I'm pretty happy. I could also be acting happy when I'm happy, and sad when I'm sad.

Also, when I'm offline I can be really hyper and outgoing. I'm practically always like that online, but offline I can be shy and quiet depending on the day. Really, I have multiple personalities and I can change in a day, or a month. I guess I'm just weird.

Even with smilies I'm weird. One day, I'll use tons of smilies and stuff. Then another day I'll use none. Offline, I can range from cracking up to showing no emotion whatsoever.

Seriously, I've made a discovery here. I'm really weird. Even my laziness is messed up. I'll want to go for a three mile run one minute, and the next I'll want to stare at the ceiling because it doesn't involve as much work.

The only thing that's pretty constant about me is my grammar. I don't particularly like bad grammar or spelling so I try to be as acurate as I can be when typing or talking in general.

Other than that, my personality is too weird to match anything. Of course, you could argue that because I'm weird online and offline, I do fit my online persona. I don't know. You figure it out because I've babbled long enough.
