Dusk to darkness in Boston.

Finally got a chance to mess around with my new camera. I know nothing about photography, but it was fun. Next time I'll try to start earlier so it's not pitch black.

And the person in 1 picture is my friend. I just thought that that picture came out well. Everything besides her came out a bit red.

Wow , its clearly dark. In some pictures i was imagining Silent Hills ghosts ....uh which made me scared...so i kinda ran away. >.>

Aaah Boston, I visit this place often.
Well that is if this is the same Boston located in Massachusetts, which is like a thirty minute drive for me.

I like the pictures! Those places look awfully familiar and the darkness of them just gives me the shiver me timbers.

First of all ... get a tripod and use longer exposure times. You have some potential shots, that are way too dark.

Next you need some composition training ....

What Snail said, positioning and angles need work and it would be nice to have a definitive subject.

I think the only shot I like, is the second one in the first set.

I will be picking up a tripod soon. Still working on figuring out how to use this thing. I got it used and didn't get any manuals with it. I've never really been one to take a lot of pictures, but now isn't a bad time to start.

As far as composition, I'll work on that once I actually know how to use the camera decently. Thanks.

for night shots an exposure of 5-15 seconds is what you are looking for, the amount depends on the light that's already around you. With better effects you can aim for even longer exposures with lower aperture (if your camera can manage manual settings)

oh yes these pictures are great the darkness oh so peacful,the only thing that would make them perfect is break all those lights and fill it with complete darkness and the beauty of the moon would shine forever more
