Red Rep Before Being Bad Repped?

Well I'm just a tad curious on something and maybe I'm just seeing things but I would like to know why this occurs to different users but not them all.

When a user first joins a forum and posts their intro thread, the rep will sometimes be red meaning they have bed rep. I go to check on their wall to see if something occured but there is no notice of anyone posting a bed rep nor a good web.

Why would this be?

I should of actually saved some screenshots of it. I as of right now cannot remember which user had the red/neg rep without being actually repped at all but its somewhere in the intro section. If I see it again I'll be sure to screenshot it but until then anyone with any info feel free to post it here.

Hey I've noticed the same thing.There are some members with bad rep though there's nothing on their profile >.> kinda strange..

I think bad rep on posts and threads that have been deleted do not show up for regular members, but add to the total reputation, so that may be an explanation for what you are seeing.

Hmm I don't think that is actually what it is because some of these members have only posted once on the forum and that would be an introduction post. And since the thread remains alive and not deleted then that cannot be the reason.

Uh, how would you be able to tell? I deleted posts and threads don't, to my knowledge, count towards your post count.

I guess you made a good point there and your idea on this is very possible. Thanks, I've been wanting to know a possible reason for this.

It is the case of a deleted post. If it is a spammer, their first post would be spam and not an introduction post. I have seen this thing before.

Why is the introduction thread hidden in the middle of the forum? It should be at the top.

How much does it cost to post in the 'Pay to Post' section? Do we need to use paypal?

Red and Green are just colors that VBulletin chose to represent good and bad rep. Most comonly the act of being good to others and yourself is grouped by either blue or green. Sense blue also can mean negitive they chose to go with green. Almost always the color red indacates bad mean evil wrong doing etc. So thus they chose red to represent bad rep.
This is only the default colors are red and green though some other forums may have it modifited to reflect the particular forum.
