Anyone seen it yet? I believe its opening nationwide on Thursday because it hit over 1,000,000 demands via website. It got pretty good reviews too.

I want to use the words "Scariest Movie Ever", but I should explain why. It's one of those movies that makes sense. It's not like Friday the 13th where you have to put yourself in a really stupid scenario where there's a guy that kills you when you make love as a teenager. God no, this is a movie that makes you think. All that has ran through my mind since I saw this movie is "How do I know that stuff like this isn't happening around me"? Really good movie by the way.

I didn't see it yet But, a friend of mine did and he said "It Scared [...] me! I haven't slept in almost two day's now!!"
But that was 4 day's ago, haven't heard from him since then.

I heard it's one of the scariest movies to be made in a long time. And it was made on a horribly cheap budget (can anyone say cheap 1950's scary movie?)

A lot of people say it's like the Blair Witch Project (which I haven't seen).

Anyway, I stay away completely from scary movies... I'm a scaredy-cat.

It's not that scary to me in some parts i jumped but in general i didn't scream...maybe im immune to all scary movies now o.O
but for my friend she ran out of the movie theater in the first three scenes <_<

i love to be scared! unfortunately for me, i dont scare easily because i watch lots of scary stuff and play horror video games religiously. All i can say is, small budget is a big plus! too much production can kill the chills! i hope to god this movie doesnt rely on "jump scares" because those dont count.

Well I know it does happen, in fact I've had some experiences. Of course, without proof no one really believes anything. But I just think its far from coincidence that people have experience similar things, and that after some investigations people continue to have replicated data on certain cases.

However if paranormal activity does exist, they need to develop more sophisticated tools that further enable them to gather data that is more believable. /confusing rant

I would recommend it! I would recommend even more leaving her at about 50 minutes in and saying you have to go to the bathroom so that she scares herself seeing it on her own. Seeing it alone is seriously not something you want to do, even if you're not scared of horror flicks. The only reason I didn't jump was because I was with a group of my sport friends, so if I jumped I lost all respect. I thought it was hype like I always do, but this movie had certain feel to it.
I really like the tagline for the movie: "The movie that scared Spielberg"!

But still, some of the tools that are used are also the ones used to detect electro-magnetic fields. People often mistake those readings to be a ghost manifesting itself. They have to have a sure fire way to say that what you're seeing is real and not the cause of high EMF.

is this about scary movies, well ive only seen 2 The 6th sense and Grudge and those movies made me paranoid for weeks, damn im getting scared just thinking about them.

Well the evidence that most ghost hunters find are pretty funny to me like using instruments that detect electro-magnetic fields it could easily be coming from a power line near by, also in pics where they see little glowing orbs ive taken many pics like that, but its either dust or rain getting in front or on the lens. In all i don't believe in those things >_>

Movie scared the crap out of me. I liked it a lot because of the directing and the minimal special effects. The thing about the movie is that it is based off of records from the San diego police department and the couples footage. From what i have heard is that the evidence hasn't really been released for the public but details of it have been. Now, this may not be true, but i thought the movie was just freakin crazy scary. I saw it last night and i am doing fine now, but the fact that when ever i think of certain scenes in the movie and get chills and goosbumps, yes, the movie did a good job of scaring the crap out of me. I also liked how it was not the stereotypical scary film with messed up monsters, naked women with guns, and blood everywhere. Sure, you are probably thinking THAT IS THE BEST PART!!! After seeing the 197th movie with that, the theme just becomes tedious. However; this film served a refreshing new taste that i have not scene since the Blare witch project. Simply awesome movie, but way way scary.

I personally thought the movie was hilarious, but this was probably because of the jam-packed theater I was in. Watching everyone in it crack one smart remark after another was too funny.

all part of the marketing machine, the Emily Rose people pulled the same stunt, trying to tie some real world evidence to the basis for the movie. that movie was hilarious, though. Hope this one doesnt fail also

I saw it, personally, I was disappointed. It seemed like a newer "Blair Witch Project" without the teenage angst. My girlfriend liked it cause she likes that stuff. She spent half the movie with her face in my shoulder though. I personally wouldn't spend the $8.50 on it if you haven't seen it.

I second that. I saw the movie yesterday actually and it was like one of the scariest things I've ever seen. I'm not even a real big horror fan but my brother said I would of liked it so I evbentually caved and well for all people who like a good scare should also see it.

As far as budget and polish are concerned, yeah, it kinda looks like The Blair Witch Project, but when I finally watched that movie a few years after the fact, it seemed like a spoof of ghost hunters and their kin more than a genuinely scary movie.

I really like the tagline for the movie: "The movie that scared Spielberg"!

Keep in mind, though, that Spielberg has also described Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom as half gross out gags, half truly frightening horror film, though, so his being scared by it doesn't impress me too much.

Honestly, ghosties and boogymen in movies have never scared me, but serial killers and madmen have. It looks like yet another polished Hollywood turd I'll pass up.
Movies like this rely on a fear of the unknown, but not knowing things only annoys me and then compels me to either bullcrap my way around the issue or actually learn something, as opposed to screaming with a group of my much more easily amused peers in a darkened theater.

Agreed 100% with this. The ending had me thinking "...Thats it?"

I thought they were gonna elaborate a little further, or that the demonologist was gonna come in eventually.

I think they took it out of our cities theaters due to too many people ending up in an unstable psychotic state or not able to sleep much after it. But mostly everyone at my school went to see it and said it was soooo scary. It's all the rave where I am.
