Your Weapon of Choice

I've had my powerful No Daichi, Moon Cleaver, for some time now. I'm not meaning to brag, but I'm pretty much a master with that blade, despite being self-taught. Here's a video of me in action:

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone wanted to share what their own weapon of choice is, as well as their training method and what not.

Although I will admit you are very good with your weapon, your movements are to big and you have many openings, someone with a much smaller sword will be able to counter your every move, plus because of the weight difference the person with the smaller sword will be able to move and attack much faster

I can see how the untrained eye would see that, but I am actually moving much, much slower than normal so all my movements can be documented. If I were ever put into a sword duel, I can assure you that I would be more than up to the task, good sir.

lol my friend my eyes aren't untrained, I have no doubt that you would be up for the task in a real sword duel, I myself wouldn't want to go up against you, but a person with the same experience as you but with a lighter more nimble sword will have a slight advantage, even though your sword holds more power and can cause more devastation with one blow, it is easily countered once the person is close to you, your sword loses most of its power

Haha, I suppose you are right, my friend. I noticed your profile says you study martial arts, could you please share some details about that? I enjoy hearing about the training of other people since I can take lessons and information to assist in my own growth. Any pictures or videos that could demonstrate would be great too, "Seraph."

lol I don't have any videos of myself when I was training with swords and all that unfortunately, I use to exercise with a broad sword, it is quite big and bulky so I know some of the disadvantages of having a big sword, I'm more into hand to hand combat now and small weapons like knifes and shurikens, I hardly ever go to my broad sword now

I'm with the people in the youtube comments, you really should go find a dojo to train at. You can only get so far training by yourself, and you might end up learning errors that will be very difficult to unlearn later.

My weapon of choice is the orbital death ray satellite.

Mine is my boot.
It has only one move that can only really be used on other dudes (I'll let you figure out what the move is)

How are you defining "master", and what qualifies you as such? Have you been in many sword fights to assure anyone that you'd be "up to the task"?

I'd like to see your boot, or small sword, or Moon Cleaver against that.

Any of those, except the boot, will beat the FN SCAR in close combat.

Of course. It's reliable, its rail can accommodate almost all attachments, and it's accurate while using 7.62 caliber bullets. It's a prime replacement for the aging M-16, and it's practically on par with everything the G-36, my second favorite assault rifle, but again, the fact that its entire body is a rail makes it so very versatile.

So... you aren't aware of the G-36's tendency to melt, then.

Do you have any trigger time on it? It's kind of an awkward rifle, and after the reciprocating bolt pops your hand a couple times you learn real quick where not to hold the gun. Given any thought to the other potential replacements?

Eh? No, I'm not aware of its tendency to melt. Elaborate.

I see the HK 416 up there. It also ranks pretty high on my list. Nearly all HK products do. The SIG 556 too.

I see they phased out the XM8 from the list of M4 replacements. Pretty old news. One major reason why the XM8 was phased out was because of its short, SHORT rail.

I have held a SCAR before, but I'm basing most of my opinions on other people's. Rather biased, I know, but listening to testimonies from my other military otakus, I'd say the SCAR is still a well-rounded weapon.

I like it so I have one at home, but it's only an airsoft gun.
The Steyr AUG series with full rail.

Just replace M4 with Grendel

I admit G36 is a great rifle. Have you heard about Russian's Barrett? It's a sniper.

Oh, that HK416, the one that compared with M4A1 carbine before. They're just look alike.
By the way, SIG-series is United Kingdom's, not HK If I recall it right

Sig Sauer, formerly Sig Arms, formerly the US manufacturing plant of Swiss Arms AG. Known for the 55X series of rifles, which were well-made and generally good guns with only a couple weird design quirks, the American branch effectively butchered the once-fine name Sig carried with a combination of bad QC and a poorly-executed Sig 556 (the only ones who like the 556 are the ones who don't shoot a lot).

The G-36 is not an especially well-made rifle, and is known to have some pretty significant parts breakages past 10k rounds (this is significant because it's stated service life is supposed to be at least twice that). Shot often enough in a short enough time and polymer parts, like the receiver, start melting, and the weapon becomes unsafe for the shooter. The XM8 had the same problem, only more exaggerated (makes sense, the XM8 is a G-36 with a different exterior). H&K doesn't have a good track record for making polymer parts. Hell, they don't even make especially good rifles (until they borrowed from the AR platform to make the 416/417 with input from Larry Vickers).

Nobody is especially wowed with the SCAR. It's not bad, but not particularly great. Even the soldiers who participated in its military demonstrations were less than enthusiastic. Hard to get excited about a rifle that's fairly awkward and has a reciprocating charging handle to smack your hand nice and hard if you're shooting in odd positions.

Done gun-nerdin' out for now, promise.

I'm pretty dang short for a 15 year old, and not too strong, but I simply don't run out of energy. I used to play tennis extremely consistently, and NEVER really hit the ball hard, I just ALWAYS got it back. I had a match go on for 3 hours in a tournament.

Probably some kind of shortsword, and just outlast people with little jabs that wear them out.

Oo No daichi desu. I like watching others perform using the Katana or any other japanese weapons samurai uses. I think the swords of nihon are the best.
As for me.... give me captain america's shield.
