YESH.
Uhm. No.

Very well done. Your hands are really good, and I also like the tone in the 2nd pic.
You may want to work on your brush strokes around the hair. Sometimes I find it helpful to draw lines straight and wavey as fast and steady as I can for a few minutes before I start. Looks very nice though.
wow very neat, i cant even say more..nicely drawn and nicely colored.

Oh. Okay. Though, this isn't a guaranteed step-by-step process on how you're going to be great at drawing. >.< I still have plenty to learn from better artists out there...
I started out just from copying, then gradually developed from that and started creating characters of my own. It helps to be surrounded by all kinds of media and to have loads of reference material (manga, magazines, posters, pictures). Take time to observe a particular picture/drawing and observe the smallest details. Taking note of how things are supposed to look really helps when you're just starting out... I actually learned how to draw wavy, un-stiff hair from staring at a picture of Sakura Kinomoto. XDDD
Before I was actually capable of putting characters in poses I wanted them in, I used to have a base. Using a base can help you get used to anatomy and poses etcetc. For example, you want to draw a character sitting crossed-legged, but you can't seem to position its limbs right. Find a reference and use that as a guide until you are eventually able to 'memorize' the human anatomy. I still do that sometimes. XD
It also helps if you establish your own style. When you start from copying, you can't just stay in that level forever. You can enmesh all the styles you like and create something, develop it, and eventually stick with it. Having your own style also makes you more comfortable with drawing since you don't have to necessarily mimic how someone else draws their characters.
Also, PRACTICE. You don't really have to make huge sketches everyday. One doodle a day is worth a lot. Keep a sketch book and keep track of your progress... it's also very amusing to see how much you've improved as you fill it up.
DO NOT DRAW WHEN YOU ARE TIRED. I have observed that I make really bad drawings when I'm tired or not in the mood. Also, you don't have to finish a drawing in one go. You can't rush art.
These aren't the best pointers/tips I can come up with, but I hope that they prove to be beneficial.
Good luck.

Progression: From pencil, to crappy lineart, to equally crappy coloring. -.-
I personally think that the pencil looks waaaay better.
Then, Ciel Phantomhive from Kuroshitsuji. Drawn for a friend. XD
Then, a random girl in a quipao/cheongsam (chinese dress). I used Hatsune Miku and Jam Kuradoberi as bases for this character. :3

I always have the problem of doing a drawing im proud of...then colouring it in and then think ugghh why did i do that for?! I think just plain, good old black and white pictures look the best. Unless your PRO at colouring..which im definately not. Lol.
AGGHHH o_oI like colours :3Can you tell?Oh and i also LOVE drawing.Just a little bit..Well maybe alot :B(Pm me :3 No hate mail though Constructive Critisism about my drawings is welcome. That is all. Peace out )
Hey, your art is really nice! ^_^
Also, the tips you said are all good. The sure thing is that any artist needs Practice, Patience and the Passion of drawing -- The Triple P ^_^ (This can also be generalized to learning anything, not only drawing... including the Japanese language. Yeah, that's off the topic.)
You can also add Google Image Search to the list of media that you can use to get your anime characters. I always search for images of my favorite characters with it and find good ones to practice with.
Keep it up

Lol. Google. XD I didn't have an internet connection back then, so I had to consult different references I'd collected. It's especially a hassle when you have to carry a stack of manga everytime you want to draw elsewhere (and not at your worktable). XD
Thankies very much for the compliments, everyone!
