These are the rules of the miscellaneous forum. Understanding and following these rules will minimize clashes with moderators, and make miscellaneous a more enjoyable place for everyone. They can be sorted under a number of basic principles:

Follow the site-wide rules
Things that are never allowed under this principle:

• Advertisement.
• Risque innuendo.
• Profanities.
• Threads that belong in other forums, like anime, video games/table top, fan art/graphic art, or poetry/fan-fictions.
• Content inappropriate for minors.

Maintain a friendly and respectful atmosphere.
Things that are never allowed under this principle:

• Trolling (including baiting well known temperamental individuals.)
• Flaming / Harassing / Bullying.
• Back-seat moderation.
• Disrupting conversations with spam.

No farming points/posts/reputation.
Things that are never allowed under this principle:

• Creating non-sponsored post games.
• Creating posts with no meaning but to increase your post count/points/reputation.
• Double/Multiple posting.

Keep in mind that besides the things that are never allowed, depending on the situation, other things may also be forbidden or frowned upon.

A message board user who, though they do not actually hold the position of moderator, has some twisted sense of duty which they feel they must fulfill. This user seems to believe that the moderator is a retarded monkey that needs to be led around by the hand and told which threads need to be locked or deleted.

The backseat moderator can often be seen jumping up and down and frantically waving their arms, trying to draw attention to a thread which surely is offensive and stupid to the highest degree and must be locked immediately. In reality, the real moderator has probably looked at the topic and seen nothing which crosses the line.

The backseat moderator may also be a backseat administrator, letting everyone know which users need to be banned. Though the backseat moderator is irritating, there is nothing which can be done unless the real authority on the board takes matters into its own hands, and ejects them from the board in a hilarious example of irony.

Now please tell me which I did to deserve to get a neg and my thread locked? My thing was a game, based on "judging" not "moderating".

Say I am just wondering. Why did you and the other mods decide to allow post games in misc. Why not just have a forum for them.

Post games are kept few because

1) They are high maintenance, moderation-wise
2) Certain individuals QQ over the fact that this makes people's post count go up faster than theirs.

Well I understand that they're a harder thing to moderate but what is the big deal about post count. All it really is is a indication of how many posts a person as made on a given site. It's nothing to special I thought anyway.

So, we can't make like a Literary RPG type game, over a forum? = /

So lately there have been members being all "thuglife" and stuff, and that's all nice and dandy; but there is a problem when such members start getting racist with stereotypes and saying offensive slurs, whether meant to be one by intent of the poster or not. Lately we've kind of let things slide (at the most just taking the offensive stuff out via editing the post), but now we are cracking down. With that do expect to see warnings and such to follow with said usage of offensive language and material (to include gifs, images, audio, and video).
