Some chess tips?

There's a chess game this Saturday and I was chosen as a representative of our school to play against the other schools. I'm not really good in this game, but I have no choice because all my teachers say that I can do it. But I know I can't just fight with determination alone. I lack practice. I really need help for this. Help!

Be sure to use your Knights, since they move in an odd way they can confuse and trick you opponent at times. Do Not be afraid to loose your Queen, find times in which you can trade the death or your Queen for theres, some people base the entire game around these two pieces and if you can play with out yours, it'll be a lot of help too you. Also, don't forget about "Knighting" and about trading in your Pawns during your game.

this may seem like a bad move, but try to put your king in some sort of false check, it will give you opponent a false sense of victory and make him think hes got you, with this your oppent will become over excited and might make some careless moves, use this method to lure out all hes other "main" pices, if you can't win by checkmate, try to win by points, if your not playing with time then don't use this method, also if you don't have a sure fire way to get your king safe after luring your opponent into a false check then rather make another safer move

One way is to move all of the pieces onto the board. No one goes to war with half of their army. So you want to unblock routes for the other big peices. When you've moved the bishop and knight closes to the king, you use rook and castle with the king. Just one way of building defense and protection.

I think he's referring to moving a pawn successfully to the other side of the board and regaining one of your dead pieces. ^_^

One thing that always helps me is that everytime you can take one of their pieces without losing one of yours, or if its a good trade-off, go for it. Many players focus soley on snagging your king, but if you take down a piece every few turns, soon theyl relise theyre facing your army with their king alone. Ive used this strategy of destroying the army and then kiling the king instead of focusing on the king to win many games of chess.

if your losing you say ___K YOU! toss up them middle fingers flip the board walk away and say I WIN! you just cant lose like that

I am honestly the worst chess player to ever win a game, but I suppose I'll throw my two cents in:

Never commit to a plan so fully that you don't have options just in case your first idea goes wrong. I've seen quite a few people, even supposedly "good" players have a set strategy so firmly entrenched in their mind that their opponent's moves hardly matter to them. By the time they realize their plan was shut down it's too late to do anything about it.

Planning is fine, but be careful of being too transparent with your movements. If you didn't plan out ways to beat a plan and come up with a solution for beating the counter, don't use it.

If you can, watch other games when you're not playing your own. You'll be facing these people, and watching how they play will let you figure out how you should act in your eventual game with them.

I like to keep an extra queen on hand.

Also, it is good if your castle is equipped with the latest cannons.


Seriously, try to look about 4-5 moves ahead where ever you place a piece.
Make sure not to take that hand off the piece till you are sure you want to go there. Almost like in poker, I try to see if the opponent looks mildly interested in the movement of a piece before I place it.

To be honest, it is really hard if you do not study or play many rounds practice-wise.

Try to plan out your moves 3 moves ahead and also try to predict what your opponent will do next. Once you master that its an easy game. Also don't get too cocky if you're winning you're bond to slip up somehow.

if you know the basic thumb of rule for the game then you are fine. Just look before you leap, one false move can ruin you 10 moves from that one move. You can do it, I'm sure you'll be fine.
