The Local Art started off as a two-piece band called “SHAMPOOHAT”, formed by Okada and Ono in 1996. In 2002, Takemassa and Inagaki joined, and the band changed their name to The Local Art. With an unusual composition…the vocalist playing drums, and two bassists…the band produces authentic emo rock, often incorporating garage rock and punk rock guitar work, though earlier on they played softer, slower rock.
They have released a total of four albums, Kotodama and NIERO in 2004, Sakura in 2006, and ROCKS in 2008.
