The worm trails through the dawn sky
Of the planes that pass on by
With dew-kissed lips I grin and sigh
While my severed smile flies

My daughter is off catching cobwebs
My son has passed away
My wife is long since gone from me
And the grass has naught to say

My home is almost empty now
It holds not much but me
And a pile of written letters
From when I was out at sea

Suddenly things blur away
Suddenly things pass
And I feel glimmer angels play
As my smile turns to glass
