While I have so much respect for that woman, since she did a very honorable thing, that is not how you appreciate the animal.

That's happened to me before when I was cleaning up their night house. One of the females stood on her hind legs and started rubbing the cage with her face. I said, "aww, just like a big kitty". The keeper walks in and tells me, "a big kitty who will f*** you up if you try to go near it". Remember kids, even animals you have raised since birth will attack. Lions aren't domesticated, they still have instincts. It's less likely to attack you if you have raised it, but it still can. They're wild animals, no matter how "nice they are". People still get their fingers bitten off by monkeys every year.

Nevertheless, I'm really happy to see women like her contributing to the animal world.

That is amazing. It reminds me of another case of two lions who remembered their old owners who brought them back into the wild. I forgot the name of that story though lol

Considering an animal "kiss" is a lick... and how rough big cats' tongues are for ripping meat off bones... wouldn't a lion's kiss shred some of her face off?
