anime you have to watch in Japanese/English?

Please please never watch Sailor Moon in English. It's practically a different show. They changed the names of most of the characters, the gender of two of the villians, the relationship between Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune. They also cut out scenes, like the part where the senshi die in season one.
Everything else I've seen is okay in either, though I like the Japanese better.

Another good anime that is way better in English is Desert Punk.
Not only were the voices great but the sound effects for some parts were better in english (such as voice effects when characters were wearing masks)

I have the Bebop set and movie on dvd, I've watched in both. Tend to watch in Japanese although it's not really a preferance, more of a way to train the ears to the speed of the language.

I'd list a few, but alot of the ones I felt must be watched in English/Japanese have already been listed. So why bother?

In my opinion, most older and slightly older anime series are better watched in English. The same goes for some few newer/more recent anime, but not many.

I'm usually a sworn fan of subs. But seeing how thats NOT what the thread is about I'll stear my way back to topic..

I think DBZ was better dubbed. Same goes for Trigun (and Afro samurai / Bondocks, but they were originally english so.. =P)

I can't stand Naruto in english.. i think its just because i'm too used to the japanese one.
The anime i can stand watching in english are only the ones i've seen first in english to begin with, eg. Pokemon

I watch everything in Eng dub except Blood+ 'cos I originally started watching it in japanese with the subs plus im trying to learn japanese so watching it helps a bit

Um...both of which were written and animated in Japan, though the original ideas behind them are American.

I didnt know that ^^. Thou, my point beeing, how can people claim that a manga or an anime couldnt be made by someone whos not a japanese?
If I were to draw a manga, the exact style as a typical manga (even with the right to left readings), wouldnt that count? x_x;;

It mostly depends on what language I see the anime in first. For example, I could never watch Dragonball Z in japanese, just because I'm so used to watching it in English. But since I got the Japanese DVDs of Dragonball, I'm used to watching it in Japanese with subs.

So I tend to stick with whatever language I see it in first. Although with some anime, like Naruto, I can watch it in either and it doesn't bother me that much.

I watched Claymore, Eyeshield 21, Yugioh, Naruto and One Piece in Japanese

I watched Yugioh, One Piece, Shaman King, Bleach, Blood,and Inuyasha in English.

I tried watching Eyeshield 21 in English, but the voices were terrible; Hiruma sounded like a surfer dude and Kurita sounded like a girl. Naruto in English also sucks

I watch just about everything in dub, mainly because I too lazy to read subtitles. The only exceptions are shows that haven't come to America yet or have no dub. I watched Trinity Blood fansubbed when it first came out and I just finished the dub....I prefer the dub.

it really doesn`t matter to me. Unless there are really high pitched voices. That bugs me. But only in the English way. >.< Anyway, ones I have to watch in Japanese:

Other than that, I don`t really mind the English voices. It`s easier for me if I don`t have to stare at the screen, reading little tiny words while I`m far away. Oh, but I can`t watch Fullmetal Alchemist in Japanese. It`s because Ed and Al`s voices are stuck in my head, even if I`m reading the manga. (which is a reason why I can`t watch D.N. Angel with Vic`s voice as Dark. Doesn`t bug me as Tamaki from Ouran, or Fai from Tsubasa, though.)

And even though InuYasha english voices are "terrible" that`s how I first heard `em. >.<

Deathnote has to be in English for the same reason as InuYasha

Oh, and I like Kenshin`s voice in Rurouni Kenshin for the English. Kaoru`s voice, stays with her, so I couldn`t watch her as well playing Naru. (although it was Kitsune`s voice that killed me)
