Do Neo-Nazis really deserve to be called Nazis? Are they worthy of a title that holds such historical significance? If not, then what should we call them?

I don't think they should be called Nazis. They seem to me to be akin to the KKK with less bedsheet and more leather, not dedicated fascist ideologues.
Baddies? Yeah. Nazis? Nope. Just organized racists with goofy uniforms.

There is an argument to be made for self-given names, though...

No, they don't deserve to be called Nazi's at all. Just a bunch of relatively uneducated thugs desperately seeking acceptance and belonging in some sort of group and there is nothing better than hate against a perceived enemy to unite the weak hearts of man.

I highly doubt they are familiar with Hitlers rise to power, his life from a child up to his "suicide", I doubt they truly appreciate or grasp the totality of the NDSAP political platform, I doubt they fully read or understand Mein Kampf, hear the Beerhall speeches, and they certainly did not understand the mentality of Germany as the government was failing in the late 20's, early 30's and the impact of Hitlers optimism on the masses.

In order to be these "wannabe's" they would have to embrace the social, economic and political ideals of the party they claim to be a part of. The hate played a part only to get these extreme ideas across to a wide audience of people who were disillusioned by their political system at the time.

Since these "neo" NAZI's don't claim to represent any form of political change or overthrow the political system we're in now then they are no more than violent loudmouths with a personal grudge against anything that differs from them.

Race biology in the 19th century and up to the middle of the 20st century was full of crap like this. They came to whatever conclusions were politically convenient, and not what had basis in biology. And it wasn't just Germany. There's this Swedish guy from the same period who wrote books about how Ancient Greece was actually Scandinavia.

You see echoes from this gobbledygook to date. A very visible case is the US, where the government still categorizes people in terms of these outrageously outdated race concepts with no connection to reality what so ever. Races do exist, but they aren't limited by political convenience, but rather by history and geography.

as much as i dont like to hang my dirty laundry for all to see, im going to make an exception so this statement has some level of credibility.

i spent 3 years in the florida department of corrections system (prison) and while i was there i got to really see how these guys (AB,s) operate. i dont want to get too specific for my own safety, but i will tell you this; these guys are more educated than you think. the Aryan Brotherhood is the largest organized crime organization in the US (altho MS 13 is getting up there), and in the top 10 in the world. their idealism revolves around:

1. racial purity
2. power through physical violence
3. money (which could be considered a part of #2)

do i consider these guys and their subdivisions nazis...no. however, being that their idealism closely resembles that of the original nazis, the term neo-nazis can be considered pretty accurate imo.

I never thought the Aryan Brotherhood was disorganized, but they're a group of thugs like any other street gang out there. They oppose black gangs in and out of prison by being exactly like them.

Hell, you might even want to consider Crips and Bloods as supremacist groups because you seldom see any white members. But that's just a hypothetical I came up with.

My "friend" (a term I use very loosely with this person) was in prison for 5, he sided with the AB for protection after he had an incident with one of the black gangs. He's a Hell's Angel now so that might tell you the caliber of people he's used to associating with. In all he said the AB would be a political force in this country with what he called "sound principals" if it weren't for the fact that their organizations best and brightest weren't already locked up.

No, Neo-Nazis are a group of admirers of ideologies of Nazis, and they do follow it to some extent. However, in reality, they are just some bunch of racist and self-righteous freaks that want to destabilize democracy and peace, but has only managed to become a minor pain in the *** of the government of respective nations.
