This is my first attempt at making something with photoshop. I left 'em big for the sake of detail (and it looked kinda bad when I tried shrinking it...)

what did you use for the background? it clashes big time, try an use something that matches the colour of your main image
is that the conte crayon filter effect used on the image? cos its really off focus
well this is you first attempt with photoshop which is a VERY complex programme
i'd suggest following some good tutorials ^^

Actually, the filter effect is the colored pencil, and it's out of focus because the photo I took of the Gundam was slightly out of focus. My camera sucks. ._.,
And as for the background, I'm still playing around with it. I tried going with colors that matched, but then it blended in a little too well. Maybe I should try matching the eyes or the chest crest? I thought the one I used made it stand out, but I do agree that it clashes a bit. The program doesn't have too many patterns and I don't have any backgrounds of my own to use, since I'm doing this off the school computers.

Nice effect, especially on the back ground, but good work with the gundam. ^-^
I'll be including my first ever avi/sig attempt as well as my newest stuff in this. I kept the size for detail. (And I'm not sure what size sigs/avis should be)
Feel free to give constructive criticisms. Just don't be too harsh, k? ^_^,

Keep at it Kumo, dear. ;D Next thing you know, you'll be a professional at it! Keep it updated!
For a basic preset for signatures and a avatar it should be:
Signature size: 400x120
Avatar size: 100x100
Hope that helps!

God Gundam one: due to the size of the image, the gundam seems floaty and the pattern's irregularity has no harmony, making it too abstract. Try cropping top and bottom. Beginners often try to get the whole image of a character fit in, but you should try cutting away legs or more from time to time.
The other two are just abstract, and there's no way for me to give comment on abstract things Because I can't say whats good or bad about them.
Life is like Gundam ZZ, anime ja nai!
B Gundam's sigs
For we are one World with one Dream!
Some things are timeless. In a literal sense.
Hahah. Well, you can still say what you like/dislike about them, B. Even if they are abstract. And it's the Burning Gundam, not God Gundam. (There's a God Gundam??? O-o)
Anyway, This one's not my best work, but it was something I wanted to try out. I'll probably change it. (Does anyone know how to unmerge layers? The program merged them all when I saved the image for some reason, and no I DIDN'T merge them myself. ._.,)
If anyone has any ideas for a caption, feel free to leave suggestions.

They look nice.
They are simple and not yet sized as you have stated, but they're creative.
I like the one with the feathers the most, it looks a lot like a painted image.
The size always depends on what you're planning to do with the sig. Although try not to make it too big.
This last one was good, you're taking things step by step.
Overall, you should just concentrate on adding more effects and sizing your sigs up.
Good job, keep at it!
Yup. Reworked it today. I like it muuuuuuch better now.
Thanks, Akushi. I would play with effects, but I never really have the time since I only have access to PS from school. Class periods are only 40 minutes, and I only have a couple chances a day to do any work. But once I get it for my own computer, I'll definitely be playing with more effects and filters.

Oh I see. It's much more difficult to have to finish something within a time limit. The ideas and creation can take hours.
Well, I do hope you get the program on your own computer sooner or later so you can experiment with the effects.
Anywho, the sizing is much better. It has more effects than the last one so good job.
Keep working on the effects.
This one's a request I did for my friend Aki. I hope she likes.
The first version of the sig wouldn't save for some reason and I only found out after I had turned off the computer. So that's why the brightness of the background doesn't match. -_-;
"Damn computer! It ate everything! Stupid, fat, smug, damn, crappy piece of crappy crap!" >O

You're getting better with dimensions, and improving, my only advice for you is to work with the flow, get better at images, find resolutions that are top notch. Add more brushes, or filter effects, also gradient features work very well, most of all importance, is using the focal point. :3
Basically as what was stated earlier.
You're getting better so good for you. Although add more effects; also the focal point was off on this last one. Try to concentrate everything around one object at first so you'll get used to it.
Looking better, keep at it.
Actually, it was a lot more focused and everything the first time I made it. Then the computer ate it and I only had one day to finish it. *sigh* Proof that a rush-job doesn't turn out so good. lol Actually, I think I made it longer the second time around. Once I get PS of my own I'll definitely be reworking it.

Your cat was moved to Dazzle Us. Sigs and Avies only in here. ^_^;;
That is pretty nice for a first time in Photoshop, keep up the hard work man. It only gets easier the more you do it.

Bump by request.
Yaaay! I've finally gotten back to sig-making!
Here be some samples of my latest work.
Yeah, yeah, these two are simple, but I likes dem. And hey, I'm doing the work in Paint now. No more photoshop for Kumo. ;_;
This one, I adapted for Yoona

Nothing wrong with paint. I've seen people make works of art just using that program. Though a free alternative to PS is GIMP. There's also Gimpshop which is just gimp but designed to mimic the PS interface. Wont have all the features of PS but it has all the basic ones. And Gimpshop relabels menus to use the names PS uses in its menus allowing you to follow some of the more basic PS tutorials that'd be difficult to do otherwise on the original GIMP.
Cool. I'll have to look for that. o:
I made these two for one of my characters. The latter uses part of a poem I wrote. ^w^
Where did that random white line come from?
I definitely prefer this one of the two.
This one's a bit too blocky for me to consider it a real sig, but anyway...
