Well I personally haven't taken them, but I've talked to people who have. Apparently half of the people fail them, and its mostly because it's harder to learn some things that way, and it's also easier to get distracted.
I love online courses. I wish all my classes were online. I really really like them.
Wedding is in October. And I'm going to be a dad. Super excited.
Dig em. Easy as pie. People usually fail them because its much easier to get distracted when you're on the computer. I only take one or two because I like meeting new people in class.
I'm taking an online class called Growingstars right now. The teachers work in call centers all the way in India, and they're real pros.
There are both cost and benefits. The benefit is that I don't need to stay on campus for another hour, and I can cheat all I want on the tests. But the thing is that I cannot get my questions answered instantly.
I took Intro to Cultural Anthropology online. It was fun.

I will tell you 'bout the sun
You are here, no escape
From my visions of the world
You will cry all alone
But it does not mean a thing to me ..."
I never liked them, or distance learning classes. I want interaction with the professor and classmates.
In college I set up review sessions for my history classes. The prof tracked the group attendance, and noted that people who went got higher scores. I was just a senior, but I learned as much from reviewing material for freshmen as I did from taking notes in lecture.
nope i dont really like it....
distance learning? O.o I don't like it...
you can learn from there... but no socialize or opinions from everybody when it's recitation...you are like talking to a ghost! XD

People do not take all their classes online.
I have signed up for economics and american government.
For a quick finish people sign up.
I'm taking these classes this summer so I can graduate in December.
It is not like the regular class, and the school experience, but it is
not intended for the school experience. It is intended for you to get the class done.
It may or may not be harder for others, because of distraction levels.
So far I like them, but that's only because I've turned in only two assignments and they weren't hard.
And I like how -akichan- put it, you can easily cheat.
We all know that we cheated to get our learner's license at 15.
The only thing I find wrong with online classes is that if you get too far
ahead of your set pace, they assume you are cheating, even if you aren't. And if you aren't going fast enough, then you are more likely to fail.
You have to keep in terms your work pace, and sometimes it's tough not
to have a teacher inform you of what work is due when.
You're your own teacher sometimes. But, I suppose you're learning to
be more organized.

I've been known to take courses I already more or less understand the subject of to get points when I need them in a pinch (i.e. to get continued student loan.)
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
