But if you don't like dark anime, here are some recommendations of genres and anime series:

Coming of Age/High School
Komi Can't Communicate
Yowamushi Pedal (which also qualifies as a sports anime)
Kuroku's Basketball (dito with Yowamushi Pedal)

Dumb, but Fun (I made up the term!)
Way of the House Husband

These are all anime I have watched on Netflix Streaming. (Sorry if this seems like a commercial for NS.) I recommend them all, and I wrote them up in the review section. Not a dark moment in any of them. Well. . . . Not too many dark moments.
