Is the weather man always right???

Have you watched the news and when the weather man tells you that your suppose to get rain in a certain area or get sun in another, is he always correct?

I remember he was telling us about the weather is my region and he said that we would get sun. That day we got a large amount of rain through the entire day.

Meh, it's hit and miss for any weatherman, but if you look at weather radar websites you can pretty much draw your own conclusions about what's going to happen.

To be completely honest, it's easier to look outside and have a look for yourself. Our radars are usually way off. They do the whole 30% rain or whatever to play it safe.

The radars are fairly accurate, it's the statistical model that's off. They are basically comparing what they see now with previous weathers, and how they developed. But since no two weathers are identical, they can only give rough-cut approximate answers. They also do some simulations, but they too only give approximate answers.

Yep, watched the weather for 100 days, was right about 72 times.

200, right 149 times.

300, 220 times.

It was my senior project in high school. Of course, this may just be where I am.

Weather is unpredictable. The weathermen know they aren't always going to be right. That's why they say: &quot;70% chance of...&quot; At least that's what I learned in science. Once, it was raining all day one summer and out of nowhere, it got really windy. I ignored it as usual. I wnet downstairs to eat dinner and all of a sudden, you her the weather man say, "There was a tornado spotted in the NCC area." I freaked, even though the wind had stopped about a few minuted before. That's how unpredictable weather can be.

Well most of the times it is, yes. And even when the weather broadcast is incorrect, it's still not too far away from truth and anyway it's still better than not going for anything at all and really not having any idea of what/how to wear x.x

Like I said just go to the national weather service website and you get the most accurate weather reading.

in the u.s. if you live inland, usually the weatherman/woman is right. I live by the beach so its no surprise when they're wrong cuz we have all this wind that can drastically change the forecast.

I don't watch the weather. I just step outside and look in the direction of the clouds, lick the soil, and smell the deer droppings to see what the weather will be.

They don't seem to be right that often to me. Then again the temperate Suffolk region that I live in seems to have its own climate zone. When most of England ground to a standstill because of snowfall Suffolk got none.... I guess a region like mine is hard to predict.
