Love Still Felt

*sigh* here we are again, with another poem. I didn't really think I did very good with the last one, so I hope this one's a little better. I put lots of feelings I had into, so I hope you like it. ^.^ although, It might not be that good because I wrote it when I was practically asleep . . . so, sorry if it isn't that good, but thanks for reading and replying if you do. ^^ *Tsuki*

Love Still Felt

I smile at you,
like it doesn’t hurt,
to give you up.

After loving you for so long,
I still can’t let you go.
It feels like my heart will break,
pieces shattered everywhere.

But I can’t cry now,
no not now,
it’s too soon for tears.

If I do, I know I won’t walk away,
I’ll stay by you,
Continuing to love you,
Even though you feel no love for me.

I know you don’t,
want to hurt me.
But you can feel love,
no longer.

Don’t worry, I’ll end it for you,
so you don’t have to say you don’t love me.
But please, don’t let me go,
just yet.

Let me hold you,
one last time,
and listen to,
your heart.

Even if it’s a steady beat,
it doesn’t speed up at all.
Because I still love you,
though we must part ways.

Don’t worry,
I can keep up this charade,
a little longer.

I can still smile, and say goodbye,
Even though the words,
shatter my very core.

This last kiss,
I’ll hold forever,
In my broken heart.

I want you to be happy,
to love someone again,
Just do me a favor,
please . . . don’t forget me.

You walk away,
and I’m in the rain again,
I guess now, I can cry . . .

Hmm...well, it appeared quite a long poem at the beggining but, it seems you have breaked the stanza quite a lot. But still,...

Hmm... it seems like in this situation you cling onto something fake because it brings you some "in the moment emotions". It seems harsh to have to let go someone that doesn't feel the same way about you, but it must be done, or else no one will learn anything from a break up.

Enough of my useless ranting and to the poem. I liked how you evoked the feelings of clinging to this love of yours. It also feels like it was expressed in desperation. I just think think that there were some commas where they weren't needed, which make some abrupt pauses where they didn't need to be. Other than that the poem was amazing.

This poem talks about how if you cried at the wrong time that you'd stay be that persons side. Most cry to let out emotions that are making them hurt, to allow feelings to flood out of them. Rarely does someone cry to make them stay with another person. And this poem shows that even though someone doesn't love you doesn't mean you cant love them, which is how most of our civilization is about right now, to loves those around us even if they don't know you are there or if they don't care about you or your emotions.
The poem in general made me think of a dieing rose, how is wilts but never falls apart until it is past its breaking point. Keep writing, keep showing us what you are made of with each word you write and type, friend.

wow tsuki thats a great poem! i like the imagery and the emotion was definately there. i understand about waiting to cry... that would be like admitting defeat; an acknowledgment to yourself that it really is over. and knowing that letting go is the only thing left you can do.
