    Default Viridian Box Sets?

Hi there, I've been collecting Anime for quite some time, however I've never seen Viridian box sets: With the release of a title that I want to buy (The Trinity Blood Viridian Set) I am wondering, what type of packeging the "Viridian" sets come in) are they sturdy?

A Good answer, with solid proof, WILL recieve positive rep from me

    Thanks Alot.

Not really. I have the Speed Grapher box set and the case is kind of like thin cardboard, but they're actually pretty normal. Cheaper and look cooler but if anything falls on them like say, an mecha action figure it will collapse.

The best proof I can come up with is my Gunslinger Girl box fell from my display along with my other sets on top of it and well.... it got smashed. It still works but...it's not the same.

Funimation re-did the Viridian release style in about the middle of 2008. It previously used cardboard inside that would easily scratch the discs, but the new ones starting from about mid 2008 use thinpacks and thus the discs are safe. So I'd check the release date if ordering online (and if you're not sure, you can e-mail Funi) because the cardboard sets are to be avoided, while the thinpacks are pretty secure. The outer packaging isn't top quality, but as long as you take care of your DVDs and store them properly, they should be fine.

Brother Diocletian: not to be rude, but proper storage of DVDs would have probably prevented that (and I would never leave DVDs in a spot where figures or other objects could fall on them). Not to mention it sounds like you stack DVDs on top of each other, which is NOT a good idea. Regardless of the packaging, leaving them like that over time will eventually damage the DVDs (assuming we're talking about stacks larger than 2-3 or so), so I'd recommend figuring out a new way to place your DVDs soon.
My name is Kakashi Hatake. What I like....I don't feel like telling you that. My dreams for the future...hmm, never really thought about that. As for my hobbies...well, I have many hobbies.

The ones I have are OK - they are cheaper and thats always a plus but I have never been a big fan of thinpacks or the flimsy little cardboard containers myself...as far as sturdiness goes, it all depends on how careful you are with your stuff-if you keep them neatly on a DVD shelf then no, there shouldnt be any problems with sturdiness...it all depends on if you want value or a pretty box with liner notes lol...
