What was your best subject in school?

English, which I seem to have improve greatly in once the teachers got accustomed to my rather long short stories. ^^; I got into a somewhat advanced English class where no one, not even those especially good at English, understand how I'm in the 90s always. >.< I can't help it if I enjoy writing and I have good editing skills. I have a friend who's a grand writer but has dyslexia so I edit her works a lot before she hands them in, whether it be for school or a contest. She's getting published soon for one of her poems. I've been working on a novel for the past three years and am on my second draft that is 90 pages at the moment since I started during summer vacation. >.< I don't get much time and the characters confuse me..

Other than that, once I have history I'll probably excel in that as well. I adore history and just seem to become infatuated in it, if it be the death of a famous composer or merely plumbing. ^^; Don't ask about the plumbing..

Also good at art. I haven't had that class in a year and a half since I'm not allowed to choose what classes I have. ^^; I don't think I'll get to for another year.. Some people don't know how to describe art and because apparently I have good descriptive skills come to me for answers even if I'm reluctant to answer and just give something simple. ._.

I was average in most subjects, but I liked humanities and sciences more than languages and maths. I got Cs and Bs mostly. Now I'm doing my final year of History, Business, and Politics then doing Economics and History at university.

History. For no reason whatsoever I excelled at it. It wasn't even as if I speant all my time and effort studying it. I just sat there in class and somehow remembered most of the stuff we were taught.

Agree. I love algebra! And I guess Math itself is my best subject, followed by English. Actually, I was kind of average in English when I was still in my native country. It was when I followed my mom to move to Greenland to live with her and my step-dad. Well, when you move to a country that doesn't understand your native language and you don't understand its language either, the only choice for you is English, the language that almost everybody understands, right?

I was excellent at Algebra but rubbish at alot of other maths elements. Isn't the only bit of maths I'm good at though.

History requires memorisation of facts, but when you get to college(senior high school) level, you have to be good at supporting your arguments with logic, deduction, and sources as well. "Memorise and repeat" is secondary school history.

True, but they are still necessary if you want to be a good historian.

I'd have to say my best subject is Math.
I mostly excelled in it because my second mom is a Math teacher and she would always some how find out my grades. So I actually studied and payed attention in class to keep from getting into trouble. I came to like the subject 'cause everything just seemed to make sense. When high school came around though...everything just seemed stupid. -_- All but two of my teachers were ridiculous and my class mates were just as bad. Despite that I somehow always got better marks in Math than any other...general subjects.

Quite surprisingly, English. Both when I was attending schools in countries where it was the primary language, and those where it was not. Although unfortunately, my language skills have deterioated profusely from disuse.

Not explicitly, but the subject (argumentation theory) is should at least touched upon in any intro level philosophy class. Philosophy isn't taught in most schools either, but it is in some (whereas reasoning isn't taught anywhere).

In the end, it's the sort of thing that you're better off exploring on your own by getting a book or something. It'll do most people good in life to at least understand basic argumentation and rhetorics, even if nobody steps up to them and yells them in the face that they need to know it. It really is quite invaluable skill in society though.

I will start recognizing I was good at some subjects but never a genius -totally aware of knowing to less than is actually permitted in some circles.
