ok this game is creeeeeeeeepy, but its fun to play, it kinda reminds me of RE4 but in a good way, i love that fact that you can dismember almost any monster that comes at you, it makes the game that much more enjoyable when you see and juggarnaut like creature come running towards you and you take its legs out, making it fall down right in front of you, only to start crawling towards you in a last ditch effort to kill you, anyways what did you guys think about the game?

An excellent game, well worth the wait even though it is only 12 chapters long - too short. Though to story had some great twists in it and the lack of variety of enemies you get to dismember isn't too great. The HUD (if you can call it that) is displayed nicely on the back of Issac's suit. This has as much atmosphere as the Fatal Frame games and I love that about it. Reminds me so much of the movie Event Horizon.

i finished playing it yesterday. it is too short, but very good.
it wasnt as scary as it was hyped up to be tho.

also, has anyone else seen the manga film that prequels it?

I love the game. Unf. It's not creepy or scary in my eyes . But wth killing monsters in zero gravity is fun, fun, FUN

Not scary, but with lots of action in it. Actually I jumped quite a few times when you "killed" a monster it sometimes stands up. That's what makes this game, good action-horror. My grandma actually quite enjoyed playing Dead Space, now she thinks that I'm monster. Now you see that your grandmother shouldn't play horror games.

i don't know about you but i think it is scary. People randomly killing themselves and evilly laughing. Monsters can usually pop out of no where and still scares me every time. Still have to say the end where he escapes scares me the most.

Does the soundtrack help to make that 'scary' atmosphere when you play it? I mean sure you can have stuff pop up out at you or have some gorey like figure. Maybe some cinematic frights, but its mainly the sound that gives you the feel.

I havent actually played the game, but I have been eyeing it. From what I've seen here, I hear good things. So I actually might want to give it a try. Havent been on my xbox live, to check ig it has a downloadable demo that I can check out.

Music does play an important part in games and movies. If it doesnt match well your perspective of it all changes. Like you said ruins it. Plus it also gives momentum to the game. If your playing something with a fast beat for example in my case. If I where playing something like System of a Down in a campaigne mode Gears of War, I may just want to run and gun.

Dead Space has the worst replay value of any game I've ever bought, and I've bought alot of crap in my time.
I bought it last week and you know what? I've gotten all the trophies using what little spare time I have these days. I do wish I did not buy it 60 bucks kinda hurts my wallet.

I did like the Voice Actor for Kendra though.

I'll say the game had me in some places but mostly the music gives it all away. Still it's a good game though I borrowed a friend's 360 controller because I loathe the pc controls.

I found Dead Space about as scary as Doom3, and that game (Doom3) is about as scary as Gran Turismo.

I feel it is a mediocre game, its just meh. Though the idea of most of the weapons being engineering tools is a nice little concept and the HUD is very impressive, the first time round. Then it just slows down into a generic, copy of Doom3 style horror shooter, only in 3rd person. The game really doesn't deserve any hype, but then again, retrospectivly, alot of games dont deserve hype.

Dead Space is a parade in the average, the norm, a resonable shooter with a few nice little touches, ruined by the fact it feels like they let a physics engineer have his way with it.

Dead space is the shiz. Im easily scared by anything to do with horror. Horror movies and games scare me to death.. i know i know a soldier scared?well i am so thhhttp. But my wife thinks its hilarious that the game warns you about attacks with scarry music and i still jump... I tell her i dont hear music cause im to worried about the thing on the floor. I did just buy the Lvl 5 Obsidian Suit off the PSN though. Its a beast. Took down a brute in seconds with only the plasma cutter.

Dead space does have bad replay value though. The animated movie was good, but it could have been better if they used better animation.

It's set in space (ok on a spaceship not on Mars) But it has all the same environments, i.e. badly light corridors and gloomy open spaces and the same style of horror i.e. no pacing and monsters just jumping out at you, its all just shock value and its very cheap. ResiEvil is totally different, there is pacing, you can see what is going on in the game, you don't play a super-man space marine/engineer and it isn't set in space, it is set in a city or village. And I don't quite understand your last statement, I racked up the difficulty and still found it easy and I don't get the happiness thing at all, you completely lost me.

I heard both prequeal and the game are scary. Very scary...just like RE4 in my opinion.

I loved Dead Space, all of it was really was really fun. The ability to just chop of heads and arms from enemies really helps out in the long run. It is a bit repetitive because there are not too many enemy types and they typically attack in the same manner around every corner, but you never know when one of them is going to pop up.

I defeated the game twice on Easy to get all the logs and stuff and then forgot to start and save a new game on the Impossible mode, so I went with hard. Good luck beating the game on Hard, let alone impossible! There's no ammo, and your melee attack is blocked pretty much every time, ho well. I personally liked it because it felt almost real, like something like this will eventually happen. My only regret is that I didnt get those last two achievements.....

Ok so resi is set in a f-ing city wup-ty-do. Resi also has baddly lit corridors, gloomy open spaces, and yes monster/zombies "just jump out at you" as well. i dont know wtf pacing means elaborate for me.. Very cheap my butt. From what i understand Dead Space or EA spent more on production then Resi 5 did. Not including court costs btw. Ohh and Leon isnt portrayed as f-ing "super-man"?
