I knew their trains got a little crazy but I didn't know about this. Is this something more from the past? You'd think it'd be a popular part of sketches in harem type anime.

They need bigger trains or smaller people.
Even smaller people?! Any idea how small they already are?

I think I'll try to avoid this. I imagine my broad shouldered six foot two inch self would probably get some nasty glares.
On the other hand it might be comfortable for me. Like being in a ball pit. Ahhhh the fond memories of mosh pits in China.
Haven't seen Asimo. Do you have a link or something?

Oooh. That robot. Although that is an old video. I've seen his newer version. It can run up to 6 km/h. And doesn't have that backpack. But Japanese going to the size of Asimo is crazy. Then they are way to small compared to the rest of the world. And I'm not going to get any smaller than I'm already. 1.78 meters...

They just need to hire more train agents, and buy them a few brooms, to shove people better.
It's a small wonder, the trains were actually so crawling with perverts they had to designate an all women's car, no men allowed. I accidentally boarded them once or twice during rush hours and it was extremely embarassing.
My grandfather told me once that right after we lost the war the trains were so crowded that people got pushed right outside the windows and were killed by passing electric poles. Thank god that doesn't happen anymore, eh.
As a small note in defense, Japanese trains are the most accurate in the world. Impeccable, almost to the second. The good men and women who keep the system up and running despite all deserve a little more respect.

Get rid of the seats making more standing room and thereby fitting even more people. It's the only logical answer.

Gosh, first of all, I've been seeing waaay too many threads about Japan, it gets a little annoying ><;
There are already too many trains, 5 minutes for the next train to come to the station. Why don't you think about the population?! Also, I'm pretty sure that the Japanese are used to standing in no roon and breathe in peoples' hairs.
..i knew the trains were busy, i wasnt expecting THAT kind of busy...i hope it isnt like that when i go there, at least, not until after me and my friends get all our stuff to the hotel haha. anyone know what time the "rush-hour(s)" is/are over there?
Being an Oshiya looks like it'd be an exciting job lol. it'd suck if you were one of those people being shoved in the back by them though, especially if they were having a bad day seems as though it'd be pretty dangerous, im actually surprised people tolerate being pushed like that

Well, I was already aware of the congestion problem with Japanese trains, but I didn't know about the Oshiya. That seems like it'd be a rather fun job. Cramming people into small areas? Nice.

Maybe they should Uninstall Stuffit1.03
and get Winrar3.01
