Fear of animals?

i'm totally afraid of dogs,when i was in my granma's place,i was riding my bike,some dogs where playing around,i didn't see them infront and rode throught them and they chased me over 4 hours till i runned out of breath and fell down,i got cuts on my thigh and knee.from that day i started hating dogs,they are so evil,i can't stand them.everytime i see one i start screaming and run for my life!i'm totally alergic to dogs!

I fear no animal, save for sharks when I'm diving.

It's kind of pointless to fear an animal, they are ruled by instinct and few animals have the instinct to just randomly chase down and attack humans. Most of the time it's because you are badgering the creature or encroaching on it's territory, and a lot of times it takes some superb effort on your part to make the animal attack you.

Trust me, I have been around plenty of creatures mere humans fear and not been bitten yet, because I understand animals.

Also, some dogs are just mean. But most are nice.

Most snakes will run from you because they knew you were there before you knew they were there, or you knew you were there, wherever there is. If they stand their ground, they will probably warn you (like a rattlesnake), in which case you back off or grab a shovel and whack them across the head with it a few times.

Seriously, it takes a helluva creature to scare me, and the tiger sharks that you can sometimes find around Oahu reefs are about it. They are VERY territorial. But white-tips don't really care as long as you don't get too close. I've snuffed out enough of nature's critters to know how to handle most of them.

All it takes is experience. Go buy yourself a Miniature Dachsund and you'll probably get over your fear, especially if he is just a puppy when you get him.

Snakes only attack if you get to close to them. Like others said theres no reason to be scared of animals. As long as you stay out of they're teritory. I mean go into the teritory of hippos and your dead. You just need to know what animals are teritorial. Etc snakes mostly well you don't see them and they see you. They wait and are scared. You get close they defend (in our case we see it as attack) And well that's pretty much it.

In a way every animal can harm you, and to be afraid of them is human nature. Don't worry about being afraid of dogs. Many people are. It's like spiders. Most people afraid of a particular animal have never actually been attacked or bitten by it. Being afraid comes from the reptillian part of your brain, that when we were alot more primitive, would judge and react very quickly to animals that came near us, or we ventured near. Thats what animals do. They asess the level of threat, and choose whether your a threat or not. Then they act accordingly.

Again though, don't worry about being afraid of dogs. You might never get over your fear.. then again you might. We're all different. Some people just live with it. :-D

The second paragraph however.. that was a bit mean. You laugh but if your scared of an animal and are chased by it for over four hours why is that funny?

It is not funny in the sense that she was chased by something she is frightened of, but it is because she was chased for four hours by dogs. Even if she loved dogs and the same thing happened I would still find it over-exaggerate. If you would like me to be honest, I do not believe it happened which is why I stated it was funny. If she said 30 minutes then that would have convinced me more in believing it had happened. Four hours just seems far fetched is all.

I used to be afraid of dogs, mostly big dogs, due to being attacked by a dalmatian when I was 5 or 6. But I've gotten over it somehow. I just dont trust crazy breeds. o_0 Just like I dont trust miniature horses.

Dogs are pretty much wolves, so I guess it's kind of understandable, though saying that there is no reason to fear a wolf anyway.

Well said. Neither am I afraid of any animal, but politics bugs me. Our country is having the likely "Obama v.s. McCain" thing right now, and fortunately the "McCain" backed off. Thank God the whole thing came to a conclusion and did not majorly cause negative influences to civil education.

The worst type of politician is the type who, for some reason is at a psychological disadvantage, maybe short or fat, or failing popular support, or some sort of major screw up. So, what do they do? Well, they need to reaffirm themselves. Appear decisive. How does one accomplish that? Fighting crime! Or more accurately, infringing on civil liberties, and increasing penalties for petty crime. Only problem is, the last guy in the same position did exactly the same thing. And the guy before him. For the last 50 or so years. Without any real effect, at all -- well, except the continuous erosion of civil rights and unrelenting stride towards an ever increasingly draconian legal system. Worst kind of douche bag around.

G.W. Bush is a textbook example of this (his appearance just screams inferiority complex, and his actions backs it up). The UK seems to have an infestation of these guys as well (30+ years of IRA bombings, and all of the sudden some guy blows up a subway train and that merits screwing over the entire population?). Australia has them too. We've got them in Sweden as well.

How are politicians not animals? And my post was not really directed towards any country in particular.
