RPG: Magic Mixer

"Um, that sounds great!" Hana smiled, "Let me change and then we could go." She tip-toed back into the dressing room, still afraid she'd tear the dress. Quickly, she changed back into her clothes, handed the dress back to the seamstress and collected her things.

She walked out with Kevin and once she got the chance, she cleared her throat, "So, I heard the photographer telling you to remember ‘the deal’.” She looked over at him sideways, curious as to what his answer would be, “What was that about? I don’t mean to stick my nose into your business or anything. I’m just curious about what he ment.”

Blushing, she played with her hair. “I probably shouldn’t ask. It’s not like I need to know. It’s just like I said…I’m curious.”

[Lady Earth]

The silver ahired boy only floated back down to the ground with a slightly agonizing look on his face. he turned his back to Starlight, and sighed heavily before beginning to walk out. he flicked his wrist once into the air, and the door before him slammed open, and revealed a stunned Claux who was thrown into the silver haired Claux. Their bdies slammed together in a bright light. The brown haired Claux disappeared, and the silver haired boy looked back at Starlight, and mouthed the words: Go Home.

Star shook her head, "Not without Claux!" she shouted. "Give him back!" She bean to take steps towards the silver haired Claux without even knowing it and before she could stop her self they were mere inches from each other. tears falling from her eyes. "Give him back..." Her hands reached out of their own accord to his face buthe howling stopped her from touching his skin. She pulled her hands back.

[Dr. Hax]

Kevin picked Hana up off her feet into his arms and kissed her saying, "You will see when I am done. For now, let's head out to that spot I wanted to take us."

Kevin ran out with Hana in his arms and bought two corn dogs with a bottle of water and a bottle of milk and continued fleeing up through the park to a cliff side with a view of the ocean and a sunset. Setting Hana down, he gave her one of the corn dogs and the bottle of milk and said, "This is the spot I mentioned before. I must say that it looks much better with a beautiful girl by my side."

(OOC: Sorry for the delay, my car got hit in the parking lot yesterday)

Jean lowers his sandwich and looks at Miria with a twinkle in his eyes. “Well n’w sha, ‘ah be know’n a place or dou. I’ll kind’a depend on if y’u wan’na LBD ow’ a lea’da dress wif’ knee hi’ boos and fish net.” He gives her a wink and a bright smile before saying “Ma’b ‘ah ne’ ood’da some oysta” [Well now precious, I know a place or two. It will kind of depend on if you want a LBD or a leather dress with knee high boots and fish nets… Maybe I need to order some oysters]

After his teasing, Jean calms down to telling Miria about the little dress shop he knows and asking politely that she not try to blow him up like some people if she doesn’t like it. He does encourage her to try all the different foods, himself seeming really partial to the sweet potato fries. There is a little complaining about the lack of fried pickles though. Miria does pick up that he is a lot easier to understand when not teasing her or stressed out. In fact, as the meal goes on, his voice settles down to a light and musical accent from the overpowering and blazing fast flow it had before.

Miria laughed at his joke and ate a bit more of her sandwich.

"An LBD would be nice but it depends on what other dresses are there too. And the fish net and leather dress sounds more like a Halloween costume then anything." Miria giggled and continued to eat.

Jean told Miria about a dress shop he knows.

"Don't worry. I like any guys input on things. I ask Rick a lot about my art and some music. It takes a lot for me to be offended so don't worry." Miria smiled and continued to listen to Jean as they talked and enjoyed there meal.

Xanu slowly opened his eyes as the afternoon sun hit his face. He slowly sat up, trying to blink the sleep out of his eyes. He looked around to see himself in the guest bedroom of Katsumi's house. He tried to remember how he had gotten there, as only seconds ago he was in one of the festivals for Red Day.

"You were in something of a fog Xanu." Someone said, and he turned to see his grandmother Yamashita sitting in a nearby chair. Tama sat curled in a ball on her lap, purring contently. "Kat told me you didnt seem to realize where you were, or who you were with."

Xanu thought about it, and then nodded. Now that he was awake, it did feel like he had been out of sorts for a while. he had no ideal how long, as he didnt know what day it was.

"Yama, what are you doing here?" He asked, and she simply smiled stating "Just watching over my grandson. besides, I felt it was necessary for me to meet the mother of your fiance." A mischievous grin came to her face "I should do that soon now that your up."

Xanu fell backwards onto the bed, sighing as he did so. "Why cant you be like a normal grandma..." The only answer Yamashita had for him was "Why, what would the fun in that be?"

Sighing again, Xanu shifted off the bed and said "Is there another reason your here, because i dont think you should meet her.." Yama looked at him for a moment then said "After i give you the other reason, you'll have to tell me why i shouldnt meet her." She stopped for a moment to pet Tama and scratch his ear, then pulled from a pocket, a small gem.

"See this Xanu? Its a promise gem. It was used in the past to bond two people who love each other together. Whether it was through friendship or marriage. It symbolized the promise of those who held it. This is for you and Kat." She placed it gently in Xanus hand, and the clear gem began to glow a beautiful teal color, looking almost like the surface of the ocean.

"The color's brightness symbolizes he strength of the feelings. Yours seem to be very strong. I do hope Kats are the same." She smiled at him as he watched the light inside the gem dance.

Then, her face took on a more serious note as she asked "Now... tell me why i shouldnt meet Mrs. Oshiro..."

Xanu and Yamashita, who know had Tama sitting on her head, made there way down the stairs to see Mrs. Oshiro and Kat in the living room. Kat was slouching in the couch, and Mrs. Oshiro had been headed for the kitchen when she saw him coming down "Oh, good morning Xanu. I h.. who is that?"

Yamashita walked over to Mrs. Oshiro and shook her hand. "I am Yamashita Varn. I am Xanu's grandmother. It is a pleausre to see you." She then went behind the couch and lifted Tama off her head and put him on Kats shoulder. "Hes a good cat. Chatty too." She then whispered "I think you and Xanu should go outside. Maybe your nice little garden. Im sure you dont want to be in the middle of the 'discussion' im about to have with your mother." She was a clever old lady, as she disguised the whispering by petting Tama some more before turning around and nodding slightly at Xanu.

"You know Mrs. Oshiro.. I think we need to chat. Why not over some tea in your kitchen?"

As Kat saw Xanu and his Granmother walk down the stairs together, a faint yet high shrill came out of Kat's throat.

"Ya.....Yama's here? Oh dear lord..."

"Oh, good morning Xanu. I h.. who is that?"

Yamashita walked over to Mrs. Oshiro and shook her hand. "I am Yamashita Varn. I am Xanu's grandmother. It is a pleausre to see you." She then went behind the couch and lifted Tama off her head and put him on Kats shoulder. "Hes a good cat. Chatty too." She then whispered "I think you and Xanu should go outside. Maybe your nice little garden. Im sure you dont want to be in the middle of the 'discussion' im about to have with your mother." She was a clever old lady, as she disguised the whispering by petting Tama some more before turning around and nodding slightly at Xanu.

Kat took a huge gulp and nodded as she left the room. Kat's mother could tell something was up.

"You know Mrs. Oshiro.. I think we need to chat. Why not over some tea in your kitchen?"

She gave a solem smile and escorted Yama into the kitchen and poored her some tea.

"I'm assuming your hear to talk about Katsumi and Xanu's marriage correct?"

Yama looked up at her with stern eyes. "You are quite correct, and to be frank, I don't necessarily approve of how you went about it."

"Oh?" Mrs. Oshiro said while sipping her tea.

"I don't approve of you forcing them to be engaged. It's too old fashioned. Don't you think they should have the right to decide."

"Oh but I did give them the right to decide. I didn't force them to do anything."

" You blackmailed my grandson!! You call that giving them a choice!?"

Mrs. Oshiro gingerly placed her teacup back onto the table and shot a sharp glance at Yama, who eyes were equally stern.

" You may not approve of my methods, but I did what I had to do to ensure my daughter's happiness. Xanu could've drop out at any time, but I know he won't. It seems that he's fallen deeply in love with Katsumi."

"But what about you won daughter!?! how does she feel about all of this!?!"

" She hasn't approved since the beginning, but I did it for her own good. Regardless of the situation.....however.....I think that there is something there between them. Wouldn't you agree?"

In her heart, Mrs. Oshiro knew what she had done was very bold and devious, but she maintained her compusure and spoke to Yama as if she was serious business woman not willing to back down on a deal. They were both women wanting to ensure the happiness of their children, and Mrs. Oshiro was willing to take any risk.

[Josun Tomoro]

Yama looked at Mrs. Oshiro's eyes, proping the soul that lay beneath. She had always been a good judge of character, and it had been useful to her and those around her several times over.

She soon found what she was looking for, and knew she had an avenue of attack. Mrs. Oshiro was being devious and bold, and sometimes, you could only respond in kind.

In a low voice, she said "No.... your not even thinking about Katsumi's happiness... not even Xanus..." She could tell she was getting somewhere, for Asakas eyes had widened.

"You lost someone... someone you loved dearly... and your trying to make up for it... you loved him, and are now.." She closed her eys for a moment, then said, in a quiet whisper

"Do you think he would really approve of this? Would he approve of you trying to use your daughters happiness to fill a hole in your heart? You are using katsumi for yourself, no one else. If you truly wished for Katsumi's happiness, you would let her decide. For if she is not happy, then the hole will remain. No matter how hard you try to fill it."

Xanu and Kat sat on a small stone bench underneat a cherry tree in the garden, both of them silent as they watched the blossoms float in the small pond nearby.

Xanu decided to break the silence, saying "Sorry about yesterday.. I was just kinda out of it.. I dont know why.. its just.. It was like being surronded by a dense fog..."

he sighed, and looked into the pool of water, thinking about everything all at once. From everything that had happened in Kapok till this very moment. Finaly, he found his voice again and said

"Katsumi-kun... I know today is White Day.. and well, I want to give you something very important." He pulled out the Promise Gem and placed it in her hand, closing her fingers around it.

"This is a promise gem, and I make you this promise Katsumi. This day, im giving you the one thing youve wanted most." He pulled his hand back, and smiled at her.

"Katsumi-kun, I give you freedom.. to choose.. whether to continue the engagement or not." He smiled, even though he could feel part of his heart breaking, not sure whether or not she would choose him, or the freedom being out of the engagement would give her. "I love you dearly, and would do anything to make you happy. Even if it means i cant be with you. I want what will make you happy."

Kat looked at Xanu with surprised eyes. She didn't know what to feel at that moment. It threw her off. She then grabbed his hand and lowered her head.

"In the beginning, I told Okaa-san I would marry you......because I didn't want you to have to return to your home country. I knew you wouldn't be happy. You were running away from marriage to begin with.....and I wanted to help you.......But things are different now. I'm confused about a lot of things. and I don't know what I want..........well......execpt for one thing. "

She looked up at Xanu and her eyes glazed over.

" I don't want you to leave!!! I......I want you to stay here......That's what I choose. "

She blushed slightly as she averted her eyes away from his. " Plus.....you promised to.....to protect me.......so I expect you to hold up to your promise."

She then pulled out the gem that Yama had given to her, and put it in Xanu's hand.

"This.......this is to let you know that your feelings have reached me."

Kat then tussled Xanu's hair and gave him a wink.

" But that's all I'm going to say."

Mrs. Oshiro sat silent for a moment, like a frigid stone. She appeared to be unmoved by Yama's words, that is, until she stood up. Her face was straight, yet tears flooded down her eyes. Regardless of her heart breaking down she still tried to maintain her composure, and it finally got the best of her. She looked into Yama's eyes, as if desperately fighting back in the heat of battle.

"You......you just don't understand.......you can't possibly....under...sta......"

CRASH!!!

Mrs. Oshiro dropped her full teapot on the ground shattering it to pieces, and her whole body collapsed. She had left everything bottled up, and it had finally taken its toll. Yama's words were the icing on the cake.

[Josun Tomoro]

Xanu smiled, several tears sliding down his face, despite the soft smile he had on his face. "Katsumi-Kun..."

" I don't want you to leave!!! I......I want you to stay here......That's what I choose. "

When she spoke of the other promise, he held her hand "That promise I will keep till the day I die Katsumi-kun. No matter the choice you made." And he willingly took the other Gem, which, he chuckled in his mind, was another promise gem, this one glowing a bright hazel color.

As Kat smiled at him, he smiled back. He felt like they could stay like this forever, when

CRASH!!!

A loud crash came from the direction of the kitchen, and they both jumped. But Xanu quickly recovered and grabbed Kats hand, pulling her along as he headed for the kitchen.

When they got there, they saw a shattered Tea pot, next to where Yama and Asaka sat on the floor. Yama was murmuring soothing words to Asaka as she sobbed into her shoulder.

Xanu asked "Yama, what happened?!" She gave him a taught grin and said "Me and Asaka.. reached an understanding about things.." She then gave Kat a warm smile as she said "I believe your mother has something to tell you. Something important."

Without hesitation Kat immediately ran over to her mother.

"Okaa-san!!! Daijobu-ka?!"

Asaka looked up into Kat's eyes. Her face was now red and slightly swollen from the tears.

"Oh my dear K-chan. Evertime I look into your eyes I see Otoo-san. You are so much like him........your smile......your pottery......your clumsiness. He would be so proud of you if he were here."

"O....Okaa-san...."

" I know I haven't been the greatest mother to you.......and what I've put you through with this engagement.....was....."

Kat sighed as she helped her mother up and escorted her up the stairs and to her room, all the while talking to her quietly in Japanese. Tucked her into her bed, and Asaka grabbed Kat's hand.

"Xanu......He's a good man........Even though what I did was not to your liking.......I......I still think you should be with him...."

".......Wagata......Get some rest now. You're very frazzled."

Kat hugged her mother with a comforting smile and left the room. She very carefully closed the door, dragged her feet down the stairs, and plopped face first on the couch.

"Ugh.....what the hell did you tell my mother?"

Yama grinned, but it was a taught grin. "I merely told her what she needed to hear. The forced marriage, the way it was gone about, was not the way it should have been done."

Xanu stood up and went over to stand near Kat. "I get what she did.. she broke your mothers mask. Shes been bottling up emotions for so long, that she couldnt see what she needed to." he smiled as he sat down next to her. "You have freedom now.."

“Eh?!?! you have her cell phone?!” Galen heard from the other line and nodded, before realizing that whoever was on the other end couldn’t see the nod. He cleared his throat then. “Ahem! Um, yeah. I have her cell phone. If you have caller ID, you would be able to see how the number matched your daughters exactly.”

After mentally punching himself in the stomach for that last remark, Galen was waiting for some kind of response, but instead he heard silence, and then some yelling in Japanese, and a few bangs on top of that. What the hell is going on there? He thought.

“What?! I lost my cell phone!!?! I totally didn't even notice.” Galen swallowed the saliva that has begin forming in his mouth. He would have to get himself something to quench his thirst before too long. How could she not notice something like that was missing? He continued to think, as he recognized the extra voice as Kat’s.

“K-chan, how can you be so reckless?” After a few more minutes of waiting, Galen was just about to hang up and start asking people for directions. Kat did in fact have pictures in her phone, and he would have something to show people while asking for her place of residence. But wouldn’t that make him some sort of creeper? Going through her phone like that and all?

Well he did already go through her contacts. It wouldn’t really hurt any, and besides, it was now brick upon his shoulder. A few more moments later, Galen had sighed in discontentment, slightly beginning to hang up when he thought he heard something, quickly bringing the phone back up to his ear.

Kat’s mom had quickly whispered the address into the phone before hanging up. Upon hearing that, and committing it to memory, Galen closed the phone, and sighed again. “Well, thank you I guess…”

He started walking then, and reading every street sin he had come across. With no map, and the not-knowing-the-area factor due to him only living in Kapok Bay for about two days now, it was all he could really do. Now that he had the address, there was no need to bother with showing random strangers Kat’s cell phone pictures.

Galen asked a few people along the way which streets led to where, and once time got up enough nerve to ask somebody where the exact address was. He was relived when the person knew, and he found his way to the right house by at least by the late afternoon.

Swallowing one more time, he walked up to the door and knocked. He stood there impatiently while playing with his fingers a bit in impatience, waiting for somebody to come and greet him, or at least just answer the door so he could return the cell phone.

*gasps* "That must be my phone!"

Kat scrambles over to the door and opens it with a huge smile on her face.

"Thank you so much for returning my pho...."

Within a matter of seconds, her face went from cheerful to horrified upon laying eyes on Galen. She took one good look at his face and slammed the door, and proceed to bang her head repeatedly against it. After pulling herself together, she slowly opened the door and to her worst fear, he was still standing there with cell phone in hand.

"Oh.....It's you...."

I should've known it would've been him of all people to find my phone

[Tamaki-Sama]

Galen went to knock on the door again, his patience growing wary. But before he got the chance, the door opened, and his fist was frozen mid strike. Kat was standing there with a huge smile on her face, and this took him aback a little bit. What the hell has gotten into her? He thought to himself. I thought that she was pissed off at me for whatever reason.

“Thank you so much for returning my pho....” Kat stopped short in her sentence as she looked up at Galen. He stepped back a little, thinking that she was going to try annihilating him or something of the sort. But all she did then was slam the front door in his face.

Groaning in frustration, Galen was about to turn from Kat’s home then and begin finding his way back to his dorm. He didn’t want do deal with that sort of thing today. Especially since he had no idea why she was angry with him in the first place. He couldn’t even describe what happened.

Suddenly though, the door slowly opened again, and this caused Galen to slowly turn back round to see what was happening exactly. She still looked frustrated, and he sighed at that. “Oh.....It's you....” Galen looked at Kat in surprise at first before pulling his act together again. At least she is trying to be polite. He thought again.

“Well yeah, umm… It’s me.” He said laughing a bit, and awkwardly at that. What am I doing? He thought. “Well I umm…” He started to turn slightly. “If you want me to go, I will. I just wanted to give your cell phone back.” He faced Kat then again. “I wouldn’t want to bother you if you’re busy. But, do tell your mom that I said thank you for the address.”

He handed Kat her phone back then. “Well, I will get going on my way then. Thanks.” He then turned to leave, cursing himself mentally as he thought about what an idiot he felt like then.

“Twenty four hours Kiyoshi. That is it.”

She stared at him for a few seconds more before turning from him without any form or sort of acknowledgement, and walked up to Roki and Nina instead, tapping the both of them on one shoulder each.

Kyon put his hands behind his head as he sighed and watched Kiyoshi walk off again. Following her, he too waited for Roki and Nina’s response.

“R-Roki? Nina?” Kiyoshi began.

“I think that we need to talk.”

“What a way to put it Kiyoshi.” Kyon muttered, and she looked at him long enough to glare before turning her attention back to the two before them.

They then waited for some type of response.

Almost instantly, Kiyoshi was bloody thrown off guard again. By what this time you might be asking. Well, Roki said something then.

“Gah! I don't care anymore, I will enjoy life with whoever, whenever and wherever!!!”

“Hn?” Kiyoshi asked herself, but before she had time to react, Roki had turned around and swiftly kissed her on the lips before quickly pulling away from her.

Her eyes were wide the whole time before she decided that she wanted to speak.

“Roki, I…” But Roki had started to talk again.

“You got me there for a measly second Kiyoshi.” He then proceeded to say.

‘What in gods name does he mean?’ She thought to herself a little puzzled.

‘I haven’t a clue.’ Kyon responded, and Kiyoshi looked over at him through the corners of her eyes in even more confusion, rising up one of her eyebrows in he process.

He shrugged, and Kiyoshi rolled her eyes before turning her attention back to Roki. He was wiping the dark and almost blackened tears away from his face then.

“But I understand why he kissed you. Don't you remember how beautiful you look in the first place? Except it is I who can handle that kind of heat you have....Anyways.”

“Anyways, indeed…” Kyon added in, and Kiyoshi elbowed him in the side.

“Shhhh, be quiet.” He glared at her in return, and she tried to ignore him the best that she could, grinning slightly in the process.

“Roki, that is very sweet of you, but…” But she was cut off yet again.

Roki formed a heart shape with both of his hands, before pulling one hand away from the heart, therefore, creating half of a heart.

“Put your other hand and make another heart shape and you'll get a surprise.”

It was Kyon’s turn to rise up one of his eyebrows.

He averted his attention from Roki, and back to Kiyoshi at that moment.

Kiyoshi was staring at Roki for a few seconds, noticing him put something behind his back in the process. Swallowing a little bit first, she smiled, and nodded.

“Okay.”

She then made half of a heart shape with her right hand and connected it with Roki’s.

Nina then proceeded to ask her a question. “Is that who I think it is?”

Kiyoshi got distracted and sort of sidetracked with this and turned her head to look at Nina, accidentally pulling her hand away from Roki’s in the process.

“Hmm...” Nina said while raising both of her eyebrows up in what looked like curiosity, either that or pondered thought.

“Hn…?” Kiyoshi followed Nina’s gaze to that of Kyon, and when she did, she noticed that he was smiling sheepishly with on of his hands behind his head.

“Heh… Yes, of course. How could I have forgotten something of such, great importance?” Kiyoshi said sarcastically as she took a step over, making it to where she was standing next to Kyon.

“Kyon…” Kiyoshi began, gesturing to Roki.

“This is Roki, and Roki, this is Kyon.”

She turned towards, and gestured to Nina then.

“Nina, this is Kyon, Kyon, Nina.”

After introducing them, Kiyoshi smiled awkwardly to herself.

(Iino Hatsuhara)[this is for Ava]

Iino sighed as he walked down the sidewalk, watching cars go by. There werent many of them, but that was because of the White Day festivities going on in Kapok.

That didnt really matter much to him at the time, as he was yet again trying to find any sign of the Oshiro family here in Kapok. The last relative he had spoken with said they had moved here, though he didnt know where in Kapok.

You will find them Kuragari said to him as he kept his eyes up, searching the faces of those he passed to see if any of them were Asaka Oshiro, or Katsumi Oshiro. Since he didnt know the street address, it did little good to inquire to the name. And he didnt want go ask anywhere that might leave a trace. He had barely made it out of Hawaii the last time he had had an encounter with them.

After another half hour of looking, he decided now would be a good time to rest, so he sat down on the steps of one of the many houses that lined the street. He saw no car in front of it, so he figured that whoever lived there was likely out for the White Day festivals.

I hope i find them soon...

Xanu frowned when Katsumi reacted when she opened the door. He did not recognize the person, so he assumed it might be one of the old suitors who still had a thing for Kat.

She can handle him. I wont intervene unless asked too, or i can see that there is danger to Katsumi. He deicded that he should be doing something instead of sitting on the couch, so he got up and went over to Kat and said "I'm going to make lunch. Anything you want Katsumi-kun?"

[Tsukamoto-San]

Once Hana's feet were back on the ground, she took the corn dog and the milk and looked around. It was a really beautiful sight to see. She loved the ocean and seeing like that helped her feel at peace.

Without waiting, she sat on the ground, eating. She couldn't help but watch the ocean. It didn't help that she kept thinking about just swiming in it, not caring about anything. It would have really helped her clear her mind.

She looked over at Kevin and smiled, realizing she had been ignoring him. "Sorry, I was just...thinking." She looked back at the ocean and sighed. "Thanks for today. I had a lot of fun. I really think I needed it. I've been thinking too much lately. It's nice to just have fun with someone you care about." She looked back over at him and smiled, "There I go. Ranting again. I should really work on that."

He handed Kat her phone back then. “Well, I will get going on my way then. Thanks.” He then turned to leave, cursing himself mentally as he thought about what an idiot he felt like then.

As Galen walked along the sidewalk, he looked back one more time at Kat’s house before continuing forward. A few streetlights, crosswalks, and intersections later, Galen found himself in front of his University.

Sighing in relief he made his way to his building and worked his way up to his dorm, where he walked in, closing the door behind him, walked to his room, and then closed his dorm quietly behind him. He had a lot of work to do. He needed to study. His first day of class was in less the twenty four hours away.

After lying down on his bed and staring up at the ceiling, his stomach grumbled, and he groaned as he sat up. “I guess I better go and satiate it.” He got up then and looked around his dorm. Sighing again he closed his eyes for a few moments. “There is way too much unpacking to do.” He opened his eyes then and looked around the room once more.

“There is way to much to do, and it feels like there isn’t enough time to do it!” Then he walked towards his door, opened it, stepped out, closed it quietly behind him, and walked into the kitchen a few minutes later. “Now let’s see here. What can I eat?” He asked himself while rummaging through the cabinets.

After finding something Galen swallowed again. “I need something to drink.” Upon opening the refrigerator, Galen was in instant shock. “What the hell?!” He bent down then and started going through the contents of he refrigerator, “Where is it?!” After a few more minutes of pointless scrummaging, Galen stood up and ran both of his hands through his hair.

“I can’t believe it!!” He closed the fridge then. “They drank all of my damned diet soda!” Galen walked back into his room and grabbed his car keys before shutting the door, and leaving his dorm, locking up on his way down to the car, muttering to himself the whole way about the incompetence of his dorm mates and their lack or inability to be polite enough to save him at least one can of his own damned diet soda.

Galen set out to go to the store, to buy his diet soda.

Kat let out a sigh of relief when Galen left. She could sense that he wasn't any ordinary guy, and it didn't help that for some reason he was able to read her mind on red day.

"I'm going to make lunch. Anything you want Katsumi-kun?"

"Hmm....I wonder what we have in the fridge."

Kat walked over to the fridge to see what was inside, and her immediately her jaw droppedupon opening it. There was literally nothing inside.

"Oh no!! I forgot to go grocery shopping again! Xanu, can you do me a favor and look out for my mother while I go to the store. I'm putting my faith in you and Yama."

With that she grabbed her backpack and Tama hopped on her shoulder. They were now ready to go. She waved them goodbye and set off down the street.

Kat walked along the isles with a grumbly tummy and tried her hardest not to buy everything that looked delicious. She was determined to only buy what she needed. She picked up some soft tofu, miso paste, leaks, green onions, nori sheets, curry, calrose rice, and various other kinds of items at least what she considered to be household staples. However, no matter how hard she tried, her will was not strong enough to resist a big box of chocolates staring her down.

For some reason, she had a strange feeling in her gut. Something was festering inside of her that should couldn't explain.

could this be a bad omen? She thought to herself, but then immediately shook it off and continued her shopping.

About ten minutes later, Galen arrived at the store, glad that he remembered where it was when he saw it in passing on his way to the university for his first time. Deciding not to grab a basket, Galen read the signs above the isles, and once the right one was selected, he walked down it until he got to the end. There was basically a huge wall of soda. “Great… Just great!”

And so it began. “Decisions, decisions! What kind of freaking soda am I going to buy? Diet, obviously, but what type?!?!?! Gah!!! What am I going to do!?!!?!” He was truly freaking out about the unnecessary, but who was to blame him? Things were different in Kapok Bay. They had different types of diet soda here then they did in Greece.

“You know young man, you could always just select one and leave.” A passing old lady stated, and he turned to her. “But there are so many! Cherry! Vanilla! Coca-cola! Pepsi! Crème Soda! Sprite! Sierra Mist! There is even Chocolate and mixed berry! Most of which are regular and diet! I have the diet thing down, but the choices! This is insanity! Madness!”

The old lady just looked at him. “It’s on sale sunny boy. You can buy five for ten.” Galen’s eyes widened then. “That is awesome!” The old lady nodded. “I am glad to be of help to the youngens these days. They seem to be getting more and more dumb as the generations go on though.” Galen looked at her; a quick plaster of frustration crossed his face.

“Ad Hominem.” The old lady looked at Galen with confusion, and Galen just ignored her then and bent down, selecting five different types of diet soda, after finally being able to make a decision. “Thanks.” He said as he stood up with five boxes of the sugary goodness, and walked down the isle, hardly being able to see over the massive stack, to the cash register.

Rounding the corner, Galen heard the people waiting in line talking. Being relieved, he quickened his pace, and then smash! He ran right into somebody. Sending his arms full of diet soda all of the place. Some boxes were split and some cans were open, spraying all over the floor. He looked at the scene in almost sadness, but it almost instantly switched to frustration.

“What the hell!?!?!?! You have no idea what it took to even get that! I spent so much time on… And I… Gah! Watch where you are freaking going next t…” When he went to look up and finish his rant, Galen stopped himself instantly. “Kat?” He thought about it for a little bit. “Of course, go figure!” He muttered under his breath. “My day can’t possibly get any worse.”

One of the cashiers then paused in what he was doing and looked over at Galen. “You know, you’re still going to have to pay for that.” He was wrong. Galen cursed his luck, and glared at Kat as he stood back up from where he had landed only a few moments before. Great! What now… He thought. What did I do to deserve this!?

"Gomene!!! I'm so sorry!!! I wasn't looking where I was going!!! I...uh....eh? you again!?" She gathered her things before they got completely soaked in diet soda and frowned.

"Sorry for bumping into you." She stood herself up and went over to the checkout, trying hardest to ignore Galen even though he was still whimpering over his diet soda.

“Gomene!!! I’m so sorry!!! I wasn’t looking where I was going!!! I…uh….eh? You again!?” Galen looked at Kat one more time, it was more of a glare, before he started clean up the soda mess as best as he could. “Sorry for bumping into you.” Then she herself stood up and walked off.

That’s it? Galen thought to himself. She is the one who bumped into me, and all I get is a measly sorry? I have to pay for this!!! As he got back down on the floor and bean cleaning up the mess, one of the store’s employees had decided to take it upon themselves to help clean up the mess as well. He glared at Galen the whole time. He glared until Galen stood up again and had begun to pick up the soda boxes.

Upon doing this, Galen realized that one, and only one of the soda boxes were A-okay, and although it was only one, that made him happy enough. He picked that box up along with the others, and went to check out, giving the guy cleaning up his mess an apologetic look.

This sucks… All of this, and for what? My dorm mates will most likely drink all of it again. Galen sighed again at that thought. But, as he got to the cashier, she looked up at him and smiled widely. What the…? “Oh, you must have been that guy having problems a few seconds ago.” Galen just looked at her, and her smile faded a tad. “You know, with the soda?” He just continued looking at her awkwardly.

What is she trying to get at? “Oh all right! I saw everything, and I feel bad about it happening.” Galen closed his eyes for a moment or two before opening them and looking back at her. “Okay. Thank you for sympathizing with me?” He was a tad bit confused. “Okay…” She began. “Okay?” He asked. “All right, okay. You don’t have to pay for the broken ones, I will do it for you.”

“But out of the five, four broke. I can’t let you do that.” Galen said in return. The girl stared at him for a few seconds before she began to ring him up, not looking away form him, and not saying a word. Once she was finished, Galen paid for everything, and began to walk away. He stopped and turned towards her once more. “By the way, it was diet soda. Not just soda.” Then he walked away without hesitation, not caring about her response or reaction.

He walked out of the store.

"MA MA MA.....MASAKA!!! MY BIKE!!!"

Kat walked out of the store to see a sparkly, midnight blue 2009 saturn sky parked on top of her bike.

"What kind of blind retard parks on someone's bike!?!?! This is ridiculous!!! How the hell am I going to get home."

She walked over to her bike to assess the damage. When she pulled the bike from under the car, one wheel fell off and the bike broke in half. Feeling utterly defeated, she fell to her knees and proceeded to repeatedly bang her head against the ground.

"Seriously.....this can't be happening right now...."

She looked up to see an old man in a walker slowly putt by. When he saw Kat's bike under the car, he suddenly started to chuckle uncontrollably.

"Ohoohoohoohoohoo!!! And I thought my life was horrible! Ohoohoohooohoohoohoo!"

Kat slammed her fist to the ground and the flames of rage filled her eyes with an inferno of hate.

"KUSU!!!!!!! The owner of this stupid sports car will pay!!!!!!!"

The old man then putted away, and Kat waited patiently for the car's owner to return.

After walking out, Galen had discarded the damaged boxes, and shifted the unbroken and undamaged soda cans into the now-empty bag, tucking the one “saved” diet soda box under one of his arms in the process. He was officially the Santa of soda. Or he looked damned near it. Almost immediately after that, he heard something that almost made his ears bleed.

“KUSU!!!!!!! The owner of this stupid sports car will pay!!!!!!!” Looking towards the distraught voice, Galen saw Kat on the sidewalk, her fists against the surface of the pavement, and her eyes were burning with rage. Galen gulped then, feeling sorry about the poor guy who would have to put up with her fury. Besides, it made him a little bit happy to know that the day that he was having was completely normal since others seemed to be having the same type of day that he was.

That was until he followed the direction of Kat’s gaze, and he found himself looking at a car. He found himself looking at his car. His 2009 Midnight blue Saturn Sky. Oh grozit… This can’t be good… And then he found himself walking forward, towards his car. Then he found himself putting his “groceries” into the trunk and closing it, before looking up at Kat.

Galen had no idea what to do. He put one of his hands behind his head and grinned awkwardly. “Ahhehehehheh, oops?” He couldn’t think of anything else to say, but he wasn’t going to leave without apologizing properly. He hasn’t a clue into what to do. Oops…? Are you serious? You could have done way better then that. Way to go Galen…again!
