I get bored time to time and like to draw for a hobbie. I dunno why but I was on a Naruto fix for a bit. All the sketches from Naruto but I tend to draw other animes in the near future.

Bah, some are better than others but it was fun to draw these anyways.

Pretty good drawings. ^^ I think you can still work on proportion and three-dimensionalism. And you should try to avoid smudging whenever possible to make your drawings cleaner (or edit them in a digital art program).

Yep, you hit the nail on the head with me. Those are my biggest problems. I am still trying to get the feel of the human body. I have done a lot of pictures when I was younger of non-objective stuff. I never really did human figures at all. Now I am trying to better round myself, so I have been drawing real people and anime chars. a lot now. When I can get it done 100% or very close I will start drawing people from my own thoughts. I understand about what you said too, I do a lot of things that seem too 2Dish.

I know I smug a lot, lol I get too lazy to use another sheet of paper when I draw so I won't smug that much. But then I end up too lazy to clean up my work, haha.

The lines of the shading are too obvious. Thus you should try smudging them. You should pay more attention the proportions as well. Other than that we can see that you put a lot of effort to draw those, so I guess it's only a matter of skills.

Uh, keep it up then. ^_^ I'll be watching.

i recommend, if your gonna start doing an original one.
Start by planing - eyes, then, hair, then cloths.
thts how i started mine and Im very happy with the end result!

Well, It's best to plan thoroughly on the character design...though sometimes, when I "create" my own lil'babies, I'm usually just doodling on PS or SAI Painter with my tablet. Then Poof, they're born!... After a few refining here and there, that is.

Err, not bad try on realism...Here's a rule you must know though...

Realism=no strong lines what so ever. The only thing you see are the shadows and highlights, which define the picture. Smudge it out with tissue or with a totillion. Though, I always draw with a 5H and 2H pencil for my roughs, then define with my HB-B pencils. It'll be good if you have a Kneadable eraser. Those are wonderful! I use them all the time when I'm drawing. It's like putty, but erases the ligther lines with ease, and no dust. :3 Perfect for adding highlights too, because you can mold it into any shape to satisfy your needs.

I know I shouldn't of used strong lines but wasn't worried about that at the time. I used to have a set of HB-B pencils but don't know where they are anymore. I have been using tissue paper and my fingers to smudge when needed but its hard since I don't have a tortillion. Best tool ever!

Well, you can make those actually. Just search it online. :3

In all the art stores here, they sell different brands of drawing pencils. And all the grades too. I prefer to use Steadtler or Faber Castell. Don'e use fingers, it'll never do it correctly, plus it'll hurt after a few smudging here and there.

I try not and smudge with my fingers, it does hurt after a bit. Only if I had very thin pointy fingers, but I dont.
