I think it's funny how McCain is attacking Obama to distract Obama from answering questions, and then jumping on him for it. Also, I think it's funny how McCain and Obama ignore the time limit every other turn.

Edit: lol McCain still thinks we can win the Iraq War.

He's even less interesting then in the 1st debate. On the plus side, he changed from "He doesn't understand" to "My friends".

Even Fox News is panning this debate. It's not going to change anything in the Campaign.

I got mad at the question-dodging barely 10 minutes into it, and then left to play WoW. Far better use of my time, sad to say.

I have to say I was more impressed with Obama in this one. I think he came out with a steady lead. He seemed more on top of the facts, and more willing to admit when he didn't know about things.

McCain's new "gloves off" style really didn't work. Other than being kind of...tasteless (watch McCain's speech from yesterday), I think it made McCain seem a bit weaker than he is. Several times he tried to attack Obama, and Obama just put him down, for example when they were discussion how Obama's tax policy would effect small businesses. Also, referring to Obama as "that one"...not exactly something proffessional...

I think Obama did step over the line when he was talking about Pakistan, I'm not quite sure if he actually knows as much as he thinks he knows on the subject, and McCain was definitely aware of that.

Also, "singing 'Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran'" was a pretty big hit on McCain.

I was also watching CNN, and made a point of keeping up with the opinions of undecided voters from Ohio that were being measured and scrolled across the bottom of the screen. Both had their strong points, but I think Obama commanded a favorable opinion more often than McCain, and at a higher percentage of favorability.

I really do not like McCain. There's very little appeal for a conservative to vote for him. A conservative doesn't lower taxes because it is the "conservative" thing to do. They simply stay out of the economy--lowering taxes is a reward of that.

I can't vote for Obama though because I'm certain that every single policy he promotes will go against my values, with exception of finishing the Iraq war.

It's a pick between socialism and socialism lite.

Heh. Even worse (from a conservative point of view, which I don't share but this tidbit sounded silly anyway) McCain was talking about essentially socializing the Mortgage industry. I heard a person on Fox News say that he misspoke himself though, and he only plans to have the government buy part of problem mortgages. Also, this is apparently his only economic solution that doesn't fall under the umbrella of trickle-down economics.

I live Alabama, still, I did not expect to see EVERY F***ING house in the state with **McCain*Palin 08!!** signs out front! It's shocking even for this backwards, redneck, religious fanatic state.

And yes of course, the black people in Alabama are going to vote for Obama, but I won't even get into that.

The thing is that even my fellow high school students usually say they'd vote for McCain. So I asked them why:

"Because he picked a girl as Vice president."
Who doesn't even have enough qualifications to be in the senate.


"Because He'll make abortion illegal!"
Which is so much more important than Health care, the financial crisis, war in Iraq, or Oil drilling


"Sarah Palin is hot."

Voting the party line no matter what huh? Has this person ever watched a debate I wonder?

And so on and so on.... I would not mind as much about this if I got an attempted intelligent answer; like maybe...

"I believe we should finish what we started in Iraq."

or

"I think McCains financial ideas would be more beneficial."

But no.... no attempts to even try and sound educated in the matter. Obama better win or.... I'll seriously reconsider the 2012 conspiracy.

I live in one of the most redneck towns ever. Although we are getting better about some issues. -cough-

But we have arguments pop up in class about these things.

Some people actually believe some of the lies that were about Obama months ago.. Like the Muslim thing etc.

A girl nailed a kid the other day about this kid talking bad about Obama and saying how McCain would be better.. She asked him "Do you watch the news? Do you watch the debates?"

His reply: "No..but.." and she went on and on..

I heard there would be more attacks on the U.S. if McCain wins because all he talks about is war, he's a war lord.. :|

I'm someone who does not like politics but since my brother is in the Obama campaign it sort of rubbed off. I was in the living room one day and McCain was on T.V. telling these lies and it annoyed me :[

I love FactCheck.org. Without it I'd be so confused as to which of the two was lying about what.

in retrospect I feel that watching it was a waste of time. I didn't learn anything new about either of their stances and all there seemed to be was finger pointing. I am fairly certain that I know who I am going to vote for anyways. I might end up watching the last debate just so I can say I saw it. Maybe McCain will finally blow up or throw out a few cuss words. That alone would make it worth watching.

I've heard a lot about it today too. My band teacher watched part of it and she said the entire time they were debating education came up only once and it was from Obama.
We also had a guest author at school and she met obama once. She said he was very interesting and nice. He also said he would support her cause (of disbanding puppy mills)
