Has anyone heard of her?

She's a 13-year-old Chinese-American author. Her first book is called "Swordbird", about some forest birds vs some evil hawk tyrant.
Aparently she wrote her book after being "horrified by the 9/11 attacks and, trying to make sense the world, wrote Swordbird as a message of peace" blah blah.
I have read the book. It's pretty good for a 13er, but... that's about it. In itself, it is as banal and cliche as you can possibly have in a good vs evil story. It's only published because she's 13.
"What does fighting bring? Bloodshed and death." - famous quote from the book.
Since Miss Yi Fan's novel has shot to the top selling lists, and she has appeared in talk shows, book conferences, schools over the nations to preach her message of peace message to us ignorant, blood shedding people. She's already published the pre-sequel and is writing the third in the series.
Good on her for publishing a book, but somehow I feel her head is getting a little too big for her shoulders. I'd rather read Eragon anyday.
What do you think?
