    Default Accomplished People In History

    Accomplished people in history.
Who do you think deserves to be talked about?
Discuss your choice, and others, but no flaming for any reason. If someone is trolling then don't feed the troll! XD

Mine would be Alexander The Great.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_the_Great
He was ahead of his time for military tactics. He won battles he should not have, and always tried to lead his troops into battle himself, and not hide on the back or rear of the troops. He gained control of his kingdom at a young age of 18 or so, and lead his men against the largest empire in the world, and over many years won. He did not just win but he ruled 100%, and most of the world that was known at that time was under his control, or bowing down to him so in a way he had contol over the whole known worl of his time. He also became very rich from beatng the Persain Empire. he was a man that as far as we know of history had zero fear, though I am sure he had some he just did not have enough to the point of it showing up in the history books.
On a side note Alexander the great was Gay. Yay for gay. I am not but all I have to say is one of the greatest men in history was gay. lol

    Your turn, or discuss.
    "Why So Serious?"

lol, at my anime planet life pic. Blurry to annoy you. XD

    Practically all inventors.

    They're important you know.

And they leave a lasting impression on society.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

    King Henry the VIII:

Despite his many wives and the drama we known around them Herny was the man who created the Church of England and made it legal there. If he had not this Catholics would have remained soully in power and there is a good chance other sects would have died out much sooner. Not to mention his entire reign has left some very interesting history behind. Further more, his children also left a HUGE impression on England's history, maybe even more then him.

    William The Conquerer.

    Theodore Roosevelt:

Roosevelt was the first American president to consider the long-term needs for efficient conservation of national resources, winning the support of fellow hunters and fishermen to bolster his political base. He was the last trained observer to ever see a passenger pigeon, and on March 14, 1903, Roosevelt created the first National Bird Preserve, (the beginning of the Wildlife Refuge system) on Pelican Island, Florida.

He recognized the imminent extinction of the American Bison and co-founded the American Bison Society (with William Temple Hornaday) in 1905. Roosevelt worked with the major figures of the conservation movement, especially his chief adviser on the matter, Gifford Pinchot. Roosevelt urged Congress to establish the United States Forest Service (1905), to manage government forest lands, and he appointed Gifford Pinchot to head the service.

Roosevelt set aside more land for national parks and nature preserves than all of his predecessors combined, 194 million acres . In all, by 1909, the Roosevelt administration had created an unprecedented 42 million acres of national forests, 53 national wildlife refuges and 18 areas of "special interest", including the Grand Canyon. The Theodore Roosevelt National Park in the Badlands commemorates his conservationist philosophy.

    Leonardo Da Vinchi:

s an engineer, Leonardo's ideas were vastly ahead of his time. He conceptualised a helicopter, a tank, concentrated solar power, a calculator, the double hull and outlined a rudimentary theory of plate tectonics. Relatively few of his designs were constructed or were even feasible during his lifetime, but some of his smaller inventions, such as an automated bobbin winder and a machine for testing the tensile strength of wire, entered the world of manufacturing unheralded. As a scientist, he greatly advanced the state of knowledge in the fields of anatomy, civil engineering, optics, and hydrodynamics.

Tsar Peter I of Russia aka Peter the Great

He went incognito all over Europe and personally learned a variety of trades and crafts which he brought back to Russia to allow it to modernize to a technological level comparable to the rest of Western Europe. He fought against the Sweedish to allow Russia to expand to the black sea and thus give Russia a viable trade rout via the ocean.

Finally he died of hypothermia saving one of his soldiers from drowning, now that's respect.
