Any of those sound familiar? These absolutely brilliant films have filled our imaginations with true comedy over the years, and now Disaster Movie releases on August 29th and promises to be one of the most engaging films of the year.

Of course, I'm being sickeningly sarcastic. I'm sure a lot of you have seen at least one of these spoof movies, and I'm wondering what you guys think of them. Did you enjoy them? Or should the producers take their profits and shove it?

It raises the question: is this the direction we are headed? Since there is obviously a market for this type of 'humour' (Meet the Spartans beat out Rambo in opening weekend), is this an indication of what everyone will be finding funny in the future? Are Teletubbies to blame?

Every single one of those movies were terrible. Some I didn't see, and I knew they were terrible. An movie made to parody others in some comical way is destined to fail, and directors and producers in Hollywood just don't seem to get that yet. The only people who like these movies are idiot teenagers and really stupid adults.

I liked them. I am a damn genius and was still able to see the sick, warped humour in those movies that makes me laugh. But again, that's my style of humour.

I feel that is I ever watch another movie like any of those I might run nto the street and start killing randomly, until I get killed.
These movies are an insult to anythng I can think of...... even stupid in general if it was a person would be insulted.... if that makes any sense.

I can understand what humor they are aiming for, but honestly they really don't seem to know how far to reach. Tries so hard it shoots far beyond ever being funny.

But, any movie that's comprised entirely of poor pop culture references isn't going to be good either way.

It had a few good laughs, though scary movie up until 4 was pretty funny.

In the end, you either gotta be an idiot to understand stupidly funny things like those movies, or just have a sense of humor. If you're not either, then I wonder if you only laugh at smart jokes that no one else but genius' get. If anyone is offended by my reply, I apologize

I won't say they're the best movies but I've had some good laughs thanks to them. In general the movies are kinda lame bit they have their moments. Altho the latest movie parody's have sucked.

I digress though. So what if they're stupid and mindless? The problem isn't that they're out there, because sometimes watching something vapid and stupid is what you want. No, the problem is when you start taking the movies seriously and having to go out and see every single one, or complain and see none of them ever. It's not that srs, fo reals.

Of course these movies are horrible rubbish, but they're so stupid that it makes them funny. xD I've seen most of the movies from this list and the one I prefer is the "Date movie" cause it has some really great jokes. Stupid movies like that make me laugh like crazy and I enjoy them. But Scary movies really aren't as good as they're being promoted.

Snakes On a Plane was just unnecessary. Nothing amusing about it. Except the one part where Kenan ('s friend?) was flyingthe plane and said he learned from playstation. But that was it.

Went to see the first Scary Movie in theater with my mom, dunno how old I was, under 13. Anyhoo, walked out after the first 5 minutes, haven't seen it since. Other than that, I've seen some of three other movies on that list, wasn't crazy about it.

Friggen sucks. Alot could be done with Disaster Movie, but I know it's going to be as stupid as the rest. :/ Just not my taste of humor.

i agree with Sano. YOU are the retarded one if you are over-analyzing and taking too seriously...movies that aren't meant to be taken seriously. their whole INTENT is to be stupid; a means of escapism from movies that make you cry or angry, as opposed to laugh.

no, none of those movie are academy award worthy gold - the directors weren't aiming for that. they wanted to have some fun, and cash in on a craze that people have been feeding on. i don't blame them.

parodies like these aren't meant to be thought-provoking masterpieces. the sooner you realize that, the sooner you can see them for what they are and either accept it, or move on. :P


i think some of these posts are far more deserving of facepalms, than the aforementioned comedies.
