In highschool, I had a spare period so I went to bug a friend in his home ec class. They were making some sort of gross food I'm sure. This one guy everyone thinks is odd was sitting by himself talking to himself. I walked up to him "Brant, who are you talking to?" You cannot make this stuff up, he replied xD "No one, why? Who should I be talking to?". Not something you can easily answer without offense, but it was hilarious.

Well, it's quite common, but honestly I think the most awkward question I've been asked is "ASL?". I seriously dislike it when some random person messages me and asks that. It's quite irritating if I must say so myself. >=/
