Depends.FUNImation has my manhood on a silver platter. On teh other hand GONZO has me foaming at the mouth.I'm gonna go with English Dub.
Japanese voice actors/actresses. The voices always seem to fit the character better (in my experience).

Therefore it is."-Kino no Tabi
Yes, Japanese voices, because Geneon can hire some pretty crappy people for their dubs >_> And the script for some animes that Funimation dubs doesn't makes sense sometimes, which will give you some misconceptions
Oh, Hi-deeki, imagine... your kind not eating raw fish! ^_^

I'm more inclined toward English voices for many of my favorites. I liked DBZ's voices, Gundam Wing's voices and Ghost in the Shell's english voices were perfect. I just watched Akira in english and didn't really like the voices (though maybe it was the bad lipsincing that did it). Honestly, I don't pay attention to the Japanese voices when watching subbed animes because I'm too busy trying to read the subs and watch the images.
Japanese voices are better. I hate American voices in anime. They just don't bring justice to Japanese characters. (Some of the time.)

I think it all depends on the anime itself.
Like, for example...
Naruto is a definite sub choice for me--because I cannot stand the English voices for most of the characters. But, Cowboy Bebop is better dubbed, imo.
Original Japanese voices. Sometimes the voices the companies make are unfitting for the character.
Derp.
Well guys, I'd like to see some examples of good/bad anime dubs. We all have our preferences and we all know the japanese dub lovers love to make generalizations but let's debate some of these animes. I'd be willing to go back and see some old animes in japanese and english and see which really is better.
I've already listed a few above that I liked in english (Jokes seem funnier when you don't read them hence the comedic value of standup comedy).
How about this for a twist: I have heard that sometimes the voice actors do both Japanese and English. Here's another couple questions: which animes have this (I thought I heard Inuyasha did that)? and which way do they sound better in that light?

Preferably Japanese, because i hate American Dubs... Their voices just sound so different..
honestly alot of times american dubbed animes voice actors dont even sound like theyre trying to play the character.. theyre just reading lines...but honestly i cant understand japanese and it sounds annoying so i prefer me some good ol' engrish
original japanese voices ftw!!!!
I hate Dubs
>.>
<.<
the first Dub i watched was Fruit Basket and OMG!! >.< I hated Tohru's voice!!! and dammit!! i didn't know if Yuki was a boy or a girl -.-"
well, i think it's well stated that I hate Dubs XD
Tohru was fine...compared to Yuki!! Yuki's voice was just WRONG.
Yes, it's Japanese all the way for me too.
It may be because I live Japan and I see them in Japanese first, but I just think that the Japanese voice actors match the characters better. I mean, I understand if they can't pronounce names properly and stuff, but to choose someone who's voice totally doesn't match the character, then that is just, like I said above, WRONG!!
Yes, anime dubs either make me laugh, or mad. It's one or the other. But I keep watching them in hope that one day, miraculously, I will run across a dub that is as good as the original.
ELPHABA LIVES!!
Japanese voices are better, Americans always "punk out" the characters
In general:
80's-90's: subs
this decade: dubs
Dub VAs have come a long way since a while ago, and now I think the majority of them are at least decent, if not excellent. However, I've noticed seiyus just don't impress me the way they used to. Some of their voices barely match their characters (DBZ's Goku and FMA's Ed are good examples, and am I the only one who notices that Sasuke sounds like a 30 year old?), and sometimes they get so over-dramatic, it's laughable. There are still good subs out there, but I'm finding more and more often that I prefer the dub. The only "2000 and before" dubs I would have preferred over the sub are Cowboy Bebop and FLCL.
sorry i think the american voice actors sometimes butcher the whole anime so definately japanese!
It really depends on the American company, but I will always agree with Japanese Dubbs.
But I really love the english voices for some characters, like Kurama, Kiba (Wolf's Rain), Akito (Fruba). All in all, I only really favor Funimation's voices, but sometimes I don't like how they dubb some animes. D:
Japanese, just like why i choose subs over dubs coz some of em' can be really crappy and you don't get the funny effects. i know that prince of tennis is gonna come out on animax, i mean the dubbed version. i'm gonna see how it goes. I don't think it'll be as funny as the original one.
Lol...I'm Back!FYI:Shana FTW!:3
