The Best of the Best
The legend of Saimoe began in 2002, where curious 2channers questioned "which character is more moe?" And thus, the Anime Saimoe Tournament was born. As the years passed, notoriety of moe tournaments scattered across the world, and in 2006, the Korea Best Moe was established. Many other smaller-scaled tournaments also modeled themselves after this celebrated event.
And finally in 2008, a new star amongst the sky of Saimoe began it's glorious shine; the International Saimoe League (ISML) has arrived. In an attempt to satisfy the opinions of anime fans in the global scale, ISML was made multilingual with English as its base language. A round-robin approach at the tournament is also being used to replace the standard single-elimnation style, ensuring fairness to all candidates.
The tournament is split into seven periods (Necklace periods) containing nine matches each. Whichever girl within those nine-match timeframe that gathers the most wins and score receieves a distinguished Necklace, which would automatically enter that particular girl into ISML 2009. After all seven Necklace matches are over, a final battle set in double-elimination format between the Top 16 overall contestants will follow. The victor of that final run would recieve the ISML Tiara.
