The question was why do we need yet another mod in that forum, and why is it Lola. And no, it's not envy, I've known for a long time I'll never make mod. I'm okay with it, and after this I don't even want it anymore (even though you all will only bash me for it). This is ridiculous, and angers me. I care because I love AF, and I have seen Minako run it into the ground for a long time and I will be very sad the day I stop coming here. Ace, you are a business man, and I am like one of your customers. The least your employees can do is be polite about it.

And btw, it's not nice to talk about people behind their backs. And yes, I can indeed have a conversation without mentioning my sexuality.

Despite the unforeseen oddity that is this mini-controversy, rest assured I will do my best to help this site in any way I can.

The forum doesn't have four mods, sub-forums always inherit the mods of the parent forums, so that forum had one mod, ShadowWalker. LPS and Mia-MOS who ran the RPG forum itself had nothing to do with the sub-forum. ShadowWalker wanted to have a second mod to run games with, asked both of us about it, and Lola was the person we chose. So the new subforum, had one mod, and got a second one. Who we chose and why, is frankly none of your business.

And regarding your blog post, well why would we pick a person we don't like for a staff position? They have to be someone we can work with after all. They also have to be trustworthy and dependable and willing to put in time to work on the sites. Our staff members don't have to be nice to someone who isn't being nice to them, and singling a new staff member out to whine about the chutzpah of us picking them (over you?) is certainly one of the ruder things I've seen done in a bit. Princess Minako and I run the sites, and we've been fairly successful so far, and I don't really see why your problems with us picking a staff member have anything to do with running things into the ground.

Well, I don't want to get too involved with this at the moment. I don't know it's not really something I think I should be getting myself into.

Here's what I think though. I like Lola. I DO indeed think she is smart and capable, but here's the thing. I find it rather funny that she was soon modded after AX. I mean, I can't see what's going on the staff section of the forum, but this is just what it looks like to me. Judging from other comments I've seen, you all got to meet her and find out how sweet she was. Not all of us get that opportunity to meet the admins and get to know them. I'm sorry, but I don't talk to Ace and Minako on a regular basis, and that's my fault.

Look, I'll be completely honest. Yes, I'm jealous. You know what? I'm really jealous. Lola's been on AF since January this year, and I've been here for two years. I'm not angry at her, seriously. There's no real reason to be. Quite frankly, I didn't even know about that Table Top Gaming section. That's not the point though. I'm just saying that I'm jealous.

I KNOW this really isn't my business to get into, I'm just giving my half of the story. I don't want to be mean or kiss up or act like I know everything either. I don't want this to turn into a war with sides or anything.

Here's another little bit of advice, even if I'm not sure if I SHOULD be butting in. Even though that forum only has four threads, admins do sleep. At some times LPS and Shadow won't be on, but Lola will; at some times LPS and Lola won't be on and Shadow will; at some times Shadow and Lola won't be on and LPS will. Sometimes it does just help to have more than one mod per forum in case the others aren't on or are sick.

In that case, why don't all the forums have 2 mods? And, this is assuming that the Table Top forum is gonna have enough traffic to require 'round the clock supervision. The Big Eyes Small Mouth forum has been in existence for a year or so and has only five non-stickied threads. It therefor has one mod. How is this any different?

Edit: Oh, and in reference to your spoiler add-in Fiery, this thread was made to 1) bring attention to what I feel is a problem (which doesn't matter anyone) and 2) to find out, in a much less hostile environment that Minako created, how this came to be.

That is correct. I'm 21 now, I first stumbled upon this site when I was 15ish looking for Sailor Moon pix. I was here when AF was split into mooniemail/animemail, tuxedomask, and animeglobe (as Wynter Skye and other names). I've been around for a long time, and despite that have never once asked to be an admin or moderator. I accepted after being approached. Lola Granola is just a new name. No worries Penguin, I think my forum time here is a good thing to clarify!

Obviously you didn't care to actually hear my explanation on what was going on. All you were focused on was getting in there and hearing yourself yell, and telling me what my position on the sites were. Not to actually gain all the facts regarding the decision. You ran in "don't confuse me with the truth, my mind is made up". And therefore you made yourself look like a moron to all of the chat, and to both Kaitou and myself.

fact: I own the site with Kaitou, no matter how much you wish anything was different, its not. My name is on all legal documentation regarding ownership of sites and all things included.

fact: Dovi runs the tabletop forum, He is not going to be able to run the forum 24/7 due to work

fact: Lola expressed a sincere interest in learning how to Table top RP, this is outside of BESM, we're talking D & D, WhiteWolf, Robotech, Warhammer 40K, LotR, Star Wars etc. Dovi and her connected at AX and Dovi approached us to co-run the forum as both mods and as a learning experience.

Fact: the forum was created on 6-23, from 7-2 to 7-9 all mods were off at AX, so it hasn't recieved much attention. between that time it actually has shown a lot of promise to be a growing forum.

fact; you don't know what the tell tale signs of a growing forum is, because you never really had to pay attention.

fact: Wizards of the Coast just released a new version of D&D, thus ramping up more interest in table top RP, and Dovi being a table top room supervisor for AX has vast knowledge working with Wizards who sponsored the room, and learned a lot regarding 4th ed.

fact: you have no right or say in who we choose as moderators of our own forums, it is not your business, it is not your call, we choose people we believe are fit for the job.

Yes we choose people we like, and people we get along with, we're the ones who have to work with these people more than you do. We pick people who we CAN have working relationships with. People who fly off the handle on a drama filled emotional rampage are not people Kaitou and myself see ourselves working with. It only makes you look foolish.

Any grave that is dug, is dug by you, any one who punishes you in anyway, will not be me. Your rantings on the AnimeForum Wiki were discovered by Kaitou, and therefore again, makes you look foolish, and just bitter and immature. Anything you find done, will be done by other mods, and not under any pretenses of what I say. I can guarantee one thing, you will never be a mod. You've only proven you are not mature or level headed enough to become one.

P.S. we met Fiery and Kishiro at AX as well, neither of them are mods, We've met a lot of people, BakaBlack, JumpforLuck, etc, none of them have made mod. ONE person expresses an interest and has become a mod and you jump over it for no reason. You whine about people judging you, yet you do the same thing to others, thats hypocrisy.

Honestly, this is evolving in to much more than it should be. Kaitou's and Minako's words and decisions are law on these sites, and after all these years, there are still people who come about expressing their outrage at why they aren't an admin or mod, or why someone else is.

Most of you probably don't remember Sephiroth's explosion of discontent of his not being a mod or chat admin back in the days of the old(er) forums. The archives still exist somewhere online. If you take a look at those, you will realize how foolish your /nerd raging is over all this.

Lola is a very sweet girl, and she'll do fine as a staff member. So please don't try to belittle what should be an honor and a happy day for her just because of jealousy issues.

Watching the sites evolve and grow since they first started, I can say I love AF too, as well as the good people here, especially my closer friends. On that note, I can honestly say that Princess Minako and Kaitou Ace are NOT running the sites in to the ground, and their productivity increased significantly after she agreed to help Ace all those years ago. To say that she is doing a bad job is just plain insulting of all the success they have had and all they have done for the site patrons and staff members.

The main point, Capernicus, is that Mods don't have to justify themselves to you. What Kaitou deems right, goes into effect. Reminds me of the ever loved quote parents give "Because I said so." Kaitou set Lola as a TTRP mod, so accept it, and shut up. Don't mean to sound blunt, but those are the facts.

I said that only to see if I could explain myself better. My opinion doesn't really make much sense if I can't give my reasons for feeling it. I said it to be honest to try express myself better. I am fully aware it's not good to be jealous, that's a trait I try to avoid, but there are times when you need to face and accept it.
