I want to listen to some different Japanese-Pop/Rock, I know UVERworld, Yui, Hitomi Takahashi, Nightmare (They sing the DeathNote opening 1), HOME MADE Kazoku, and Hearts Grow.
Does anyone know any other good Japanese bands I could listen to?

Looks like some pop :3.
Otsuka Ai - She doesn't do anything from anime, but she's pretty good.
ZONE - They redid the Tetsuwan Atomu opening, but other than that, they haven't done anything from anime. Again, they're catchy, cute, and pretty cool.
Mikuni Shimokawa - She does a lot of anime, and she's pretty cool.
Miyamoto Shunichi - A little more mellow, but his songs are really pretty.
If you want rock, then I recommend Asian Kung-Fu Generation or BEAT CRUSADERS. They've got some really good stuff.
Nightmare is rock too (and they're one of my favorite bands), but they're also visual kei. Visual kei can sometimes be in a category all of it's own. But if you want to check out visual kei, I recommend starting with oshare kei. Like alice nine. or LM.C.

I always recommend Hayashibara Megumi. Awesome, completely awesome. She does pop, a lot for very historical anime such as:
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Slayers
Slayers Next
Slayers Try
Saber Marionette
Love Hina
Back, by popular demand! Now with new avy.
*GASP!!!* No one mentioned Hikki!
Sorry, she's good.
Utada Hikaru (Hikki) - she sings pop. Beautiful pop. She was born in New York, USA, which actually surprised me not too long ago. She sang Simple and Clean (Hikari), and Sanctuary (Passion) for the Kindom Hearts I and II intro and outro. There's so many versions of Sanctuary (Passion) it's not funny.
Koda Kumi - she sings pop, too...I think O.o;; One of her songs scare me. If you've ever played Final Fantasy X-2, and liked 1000's words (even though it was remade by Jade) you'd like her. She was also the Japanese voiceover of Lenne.
Boa Kwon - even though she's Korean and mainly sings Kpop, she does the occassional Jpop. If you liked Every Heart (Min'na no Kokoro - Everyone's Feelings) then you should go listen to her songs, too.
Um, that's actually my collection. O.o;; Oh, for Rush Hour 1(or 2...) Utada actually sang some of the ending song, but I never get to hear it because Starz always cuts out the sound for the credits and shows commercials.
No one mentioned FLOW! Anyways, FLOW is good also DREAMS COME TRUE and HYDE!

Man, most of my playlist is Japanese...
Let's see....
HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR is my favorite band probably..
Mika Nakashima- mellow songs.
Changin' My Life- gentle music.
Maximum the Hormone- did the Death Note songs too.
Miyavi- famous. Goodlooking, music is a bit weird, in between rock and pop.
LM.C- if you like jrock, with artists that really yell into the mic.
Mami Kawada- cute voice.
Nami Takami- very techno-ish songs.
Orange Range- did Naruto and Bleach songs. If you like what they did already, be sure to listen to their other albums.
Rurutia- one of my favorite single artists. Soft voice.
Suga Shikao- another one of my favorite artists. His voice, I dunno, I find really soothing. Did one of the Death Note (movie) songs.
GazettE- for all your visual kei needs.
Tommy February6- cutesy songs.
That's about all I can recommend from memory.
You left me hanging from a thread we once swung from together.
I’ve lick my wounds but I can’t ever see them getting better.
Something’s gotta change; things cannot stay the same?

Tokyo Jihen >> if u like jazz
Ellegarden >> a very good band with a very good english xD
DEPAPEPE >> guitar duet,, very good

Why don't you try the following (My favorite bands!):
-alice nine (For your Visual Kei needs! They have pretty good songs, such as "TSUBASA", "Blue Planet", and "Kioku no Shandelia".)
-Antic Cafe (They are extremely good, though I prefer alice nine. "Candy Holic", "Kakusei Heroism ~The Hero Without a "NAME"~", and "GO! GO! GO!" are some of my favorite songs from them.)
-Miyavi (Not a band, but a solo rock singer, just like Hyde -Although Hyde is from L'Arc~en~Ciel-. I really like his song "Subarashiki Kana, Kono Sekai" and "Are You Ready to ROCK?!")
-HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR (My favorite band! Check out all their songs, including their cover songs.)
-MAXIMUM THE HORMONE (Not only do their Death Note songs rock, but their other songs are incredible. Try "Shimi", "Chu Chu Lovely Muni Muni Mura Mura Purin Purin Boron Nurureroero", "Kyokatsu", "Akagi", and "Falling Jimmy". Chu Chu is a funny song! ^_^)
BTW, Hitomi Takahashi rules! My fav. singer! Check out her new songs, like "PRIDE", which is extremely good!
P.M. if you want more artists. I enjoy talking about them!

Oh niiice, I like a lot of what you like.
Girgumesh is good too. GreeeeN is good. LOL.
My favorite Maximum the Hormone song is Koi no Mega Lover.
I didn't know HaMC did cover songs... I love their new album.
I like Miyavi's Ashita Genki Ni Naare.
Antic Cafe has a new song called Cherry Saku Yuuki.

I give a thumbs up to Art-School. They're a bit more difficult to find, but it's a nice payoff. Flora was a very mellow album and great to relax to. Nothing terribly loud or hardcore either. The vocals are in a hypnotic style, and they've got their fair share of catchy tunes.
ELLEGARDEN is also an amazing group. One of the first J-Rock groups I've listened to with a solid, English speaking/writing lead man. Riot on the Grill and Eleven Firecrackers are awesome albums. Their sound is something like an American punk band with Japanese roots. Really good.
AKFG is a given. Do yourself the favor, and listen to them. Try to look deeper than "Rewrite" and "Haruka Kanata". Those can barely hold a candle to their best work.
Come to think of it, I think I'll throw Number Girl out there too. I haven't listened to a lot from them, but what I have I like. The vocals are a bit different than I'm used to, but there's something really catchy about their songs. There's things you wouldn't expect normally, like screaming and rap, but it's good. Really. Drummer's great in their later albums. It's a shame they disbanded.

hmm well...almost every Visual Kei band is awesome.
Oh I Wish!
Well, since everyone is recommending unusual, non-anime bands. I guess I'll do the same :3.
My favorite genre by far is visual kei. Do not, I repeat, do not go for Malice Mizer. Well, it's up to you, but I'm just saying. They're a little overrated, and they're music just isn't as great as other bands. Along with Dir en Grey. Here are my recommendations for visual kei:
BUCK-TICK - They're just freakin' awesome. So awesome that Abingdon Boys School (another one of my favorite bands) did a cover of one of their songs.
Kra - They're oshare kei, but they're genius. They're music is really catchy, and I can't relate them to anyone else.
Penicillin - I can't even describe them. They're just incredible.
Nightmare - Next to BUCK-TICK, they are my favorite, hands down. Alumina, meh. The World, meh. You have to actually LISTEN to their other stuff to really get a taste for them.
alice nine. - I'm sure plenty of people will tell you how great these guys are.
I also like straight up rock. Here are some non-visual kei recommendations:
T.M.Revolution - He's kind of love or hate for most people. I love him. I love his music more than anything. He blends pop with rock beats, and makes the best remixes. He is my favorite artist, and I even put him before my favorite visual kei bands. He's just the best, in my opinion.
Abingdon Boys School - If you like T.M.Revolution, you will most likely like them.
Number Girl - I only recently got into them (about a year ago), after hearing that AFKG liked them. They're great. Hard to find, but great!
LAST ALLIANCE - Again, they're almost impossible to find, but even after downloading their albums two years ago, I'm still listening to it daily. Shissou from Host Club was actually a very good song from their album.
ICEMAN - I don't people even know about them. They're a little, but they're brilliant. One of the band members is Daisuke Asakura (a famous Japanese producer), who is also the producer of T.M.Revolution. They too blend rock, but with more techno beats.
Yeah yeah, you should check those people out.

Yay! Another fan of the same music I like.Oh niiice, I like a lot of what you like.
Girgumesh is good too. GreeeeN is good. LOL.

ROCK PIT from HANDMC is really good! I like "ZERO SYMPATHY" from that album, although basically, the whole song is just Maaki and Yuusuke talking... XD "HOT LIMIT" and "ROSIER" are their cover songs. They did a cover of T.M. Revolution, which is "HOT LIMIT", and a cover of LUNA SEA, which is "ROSIER".
I started listening to Girugamesh recently. I really like their sound, though.
Miyavi has a weird style, but I love him and his songs. I really like "Are You Ready to ROCK?!" and "Subarashiki Kana, Kono Sekai".
I've heard "Cherry Saku Yuuki". Not my fav. song from An Cafe, but not their worst either.
I haven't listened to GreeeeN, though.
MTH rules!
Thank's for bringing up HYDE!!! He made one of Blood+ intro called Season's Call!!!
Hmm what abouuuut...Dream? The made an Inuyasha intro called My Will. This is an all girl group so some of you people might think they're joyfull peacefull songs suck...but since you're a girl you should listen to them, here:

Thanks Lawlieth!!
They also did "Get Over" which was used for Hikaru No Go.
If all the music you've heard from Japan is from anime, you should dig a little further. It's kind of silly to do that, you know.
Anyway, I know, I KNOW I'm going to shoot myself later for saying this, but AKFG is a good band to look into. ): -dead-.
On this day of days, most epic and prideful, you were born 15 whole American years ago!
Through the odds and by doing the impossible, you beat out hundreds of thousands of siblings in the great sperm race for the coveted egg.

Regardless! You won!

Just remind them that you beat out a few hundred thousand other wimps.
