What’s Going On?
This is to be your one stop thread to what’s currently going on in the forum. Links to writing challenges, contests, and featured stories, both past and present, will all be located here. Other fun activities may find their way into being linked here as well, so make sure you check back often.
Featured Fiction
Read a story on this forum you found particularly spectacular? Gain some fresh attention for it by sending me a PM requesting it be featured and stating briefly why you think it deserves the honor. The only restrictions I’m setting is that you not nominate your own stories, and that the featured story must be complete, or very near completion. All featured fiction will have links provided here for your reading enjoyment.
Also Recommended (off-site)
Read a particularly good story off site? PM me with a link to the story, including whether it is original or fanfiction (and what anime/game it is using), and why you think it’s a good addition. Keep in mind that I am unable to include stories that do not adhere to this site’s guidelines in terms of content.

Contests
Periodically I will be holding contests, of either my own creation or through suggestions from members. There won’t be more than one held at a time, and prizes will generally range from point donations to signature graphics created by volunteer graphics makers on this site.
Current Contest: A Picture is Worth 1000 Words (Progress: Voting)
Rebirth (Progress: Complete)
Writing Challenges
Writing challenges are, of course, completely voluntary, but I would recommend seasoned and aspiring writers alike give them a try. One of the best ways to hone your writing skills is to attempt techniques you have never tried before. Writing challenges will not have a “closing” date, as contests do, so feel free to look back to past challenges if you are suffering writer’s block. There is no right or wrong when it comes to writing them, and sometimes they can make an excellent spin-off into a full-fledged story.

Writing Discussions
This is something new I'd like to try out. These threads are each addressing different important areas in fiction writing. Discuss your thoughts on the subject freely. How it's done well, how it's done poorly, and maybe even reference published examples of it done particularly well so struggling writers have something to help them along. Also post in these threads for help in your own writing. Just about anything is allowed, so long as it relates to the topic of that particular thread. If these get a good response I'll start more. Please PM me with suggestions for other important discussion threads I haven't started yet.

Princess Ai started this trend, and I mean to continue it ;p Think of these threads as a little piece of the Miscellaneous forum for your personal use in this forum. Free discussion encouraged, but all forum rules still apply. I'll start new ones when we hit 200 posts.
