Software you cannot live with out.
Other that Operating systems, which I think we talk about enough, what software do you use that you cannot live with out?
As for my self, I think the list would include Fire Fox, Thunder bird, VLC media player , Photoshop, Peer guardian, Spyblock S&D, Microsoft Excel Nero GiPo@Utilities. Life would be bad with out Word, but there are others I could use.

Firefox: Most important application on my computer by far. I don't know what I'd do without it.
Task Manager: Useful for when Windows goes awry, as it often does.
Windows Media Player: For listening to MP3s.
Real Player: For watching videos.
HP DVD Play: For watching DVDs.
Notepad/Microsoft Word: For word processing.
Pinnacle TVCenter Pro: I need to use it for watching TV.
Windows Sidebar: Gadgets are the best thing about Windows Vista.

Task manger for when windows vista freezes
Steam for my games
No software is needed for me to live, like seriously.
But .. I guess life without Winamp would suck. :|

iTunes - For music.
Msn - A day without talking to my friends is like a day without chocolate.
Firefox - Better than IE.
VLC Media Player - For movies.
Microsoft Office Word - For stories and writing poems.
Windows Task Manager - VERY useful when computer freezes.
VeohTV - For watching animes, movies and all.
Photoshop - For random doodle when I'ma bored.
System Restore - For returning to the old computer settings.
Spyware Doctor - essential tools for computer. Nobody wants virus, right?
Well, yeah. Those are what I couldn't live without.

As a sidenote, "Notepad++" is a tremendously stupid name. foo++ is a post-incrementer. Which means, notepad will increase in the future.

I'm aware of all of this. I myself use Safari and/or Konqueror. Still I'd rather people use Firefox than IE. IE is evil!
Firefox is much more secure and advanced and much more standard compliant.
