I'm new, need a genius

hey guys(and girls),

I have just registered to this site but i have always enjoyed anime.
The problem is that I need some help to find a very special movie.
The basic story is that a young man has an assassin after him.
this assassin mounts a machine gun to the edge of a wall at the top of a sky scraper, he then shoots through the windows and corridor of another sky scrapper and hits a bullet proof window on the facing of the next building, where the young man is.
because it is a machine gun the bullets keep hitting the one point in the glass chipping it away and finally a few bullets get through and kill the young man.
The young mans father then spends the rest of the movie sending people to trying and kill the assassin.
If anyone knows enough to help, please do, i love this movie and its driving my head in that i cant remember what it is called.

sorry, forgot to add, I've not really seen a lot of anime recently but i want to start watching again.
I kinda like stuff like violence jack, ghost in the shell, devil man, akira, ninja scroll,etc.
so if anyone has any recomendations I would love to hear from you.
but before getting bogged down with lots of comments about rules, im not here to break them.
Im just here to have fun, meet new people and talk about anime.
so let me know if you have any favourites that i may like.

Oh cool I know that movie I think, the guy who made Saw was also the guy who made this movie. The kids a hockey player or something, and the dad tries to take revenge. I don't know. I think it's Death Sentence.
