Death? why do you fear it so much?

I'm not afraid of death. Well to me is that no matter what, you'll a sooner or later dead person. If you were to die without accomplishing one of you main goal then death is pointless. ( sorry if it's confusing)

The reason I do not like the thought of it is because nobody actually knows what comes after, I'm quite afraid that nothing happens. That it is just......dark. No thinking, no talking, no nothing.

But when my friends Grandfather passed away for 5 minutes in hospital once they brought him back, luckily, and he said that it was one of the most lovely experiences ever. He said it was so relaxing and you had no fears, no worries or anything. I hope it really is that wonderful, and what my friends Grandfather said really did give me a hopeful positive view on what will happen to us once it all ends.

I guess we fear death because...of how it will feel. We cant breathe, see, taste, hear or feel anything. I mean I know were DEAD...but I fear being lifeless and how I'll black out and not feel anything. I know its confusing to some of you, but Im sure alot of you will understand. I'll be dead...theres nothing I can do about it. I also wonder if theres a heaven or hell too.

Well I think a lot of people fear death because it cannot be stoped one day it is all over and that is that
Personally I do not fear it because I think I have a long time left on this planet anyway
I know I make at least a few people happy and have it good where I am at. However I have prevented and been saved from suicide before too. idk if people will remember me but I guess we'll never know for sure

You don't need to die to not think, not talk and plainly do nothing. You can do that while still living.

Well when i was younger i got really scared after realizing what death was.I didn't want to die.I was like omg ii don't wanna die!!!!Now well i think differently.It is simply what must happen and will happen.What can you do?Well you can become immortal and enslave the whole human race. lol Joking.
In any case it is just like that and i can just hope that i do not die to early before i fulfill my dreams and accomplish all i ever wanted.That is my fear the fear of not doing what i dream of.Not a fear of death.

I once had a thought that we might already be dead, and we are on pergatory repenting all of the sins we commited in our real life. Everybody says that this world is not perfect and that could be why, because we are being punished and our punishment is sadness, sorrow, lust pain and others. Many many bad things happen to people on this world. Then, when we die we are actually being sent to heaven because our sins are forgiven. The people that die old are the ones that done most offenses and the ones that die young may be the ones that only commited 1 or 2 offenses which is why they are not here for that long.

I don't know but it does make sense. To me it does anyway.

I never really feared death until I had a seizure [even though I wasn't even close to dying]. It was really the pain that scared me.

I don't fear what death is, since I don't see it as an ending, it's just HOW I'm going to die that makes me a tad nervous. o_x

i dont what to be there when i die (as in id rather die in my sleep) but thats not much of an answer is it well to be truthful i not to sure wether it scares me or not (i being none religious dont belive in Hevan/hell) the whole its pecefull after you do go, but the bit of eternal darkness and never wakeing up and all that is quite scarey

Of course there isn't anything wrong with fearing death. Maybe it's what we have that's left to care about, fear of losing our most loved ones, important items, our goals we want to complete.

Perhaps the fear of losing ourselves. Maybe we fear that when we die everyone will slowly forget us. Our memories in their hearts will fade. When we think about it, our images and ideas on death are different, but it scares us either we fear it or not.

Even so, I still do not know what death is.

There is nothing to fear in death itself, it's a very natural ending to life. Becuase what was once born, will have to die sooner or later.

I think this fear of death isn't actually a "fear of death" in itself. It has more to do with a fear of the unknown. And I see nothing to fear in what I don't know as yet, so my fear of death doesn't come to play either.

Wow,interesting thread. Honestly,i think that most of the people fear death mostly because of the pain of dying... But i also fear it because of what awaits for me in the second life o_O. Also because i'll lose the people i love most...

Well this is a contraversial topic mainly because of the religious backround to it, but I won't get into that.
Now I do fear death, but only when it comes to me for no porpuse what so ever other than that, no not really. Actually some people in the world think that we shouldn't fear or try to avoid death but actually accept it, now my response is different but there's more to it that I won't go on about.

To tell the truth...we all of us...are scared to die, deep down we know. Even if we all say we don't deep down we just do know that we are afraid, it's one of the most common human fears (except being afraid of the dark...but who is?).

Death in itself is a mystery. Not all fear the unknown, fear death. Deep down Fear is there, those who choose to not keep their fear in the dark places of their being are fools. It's safe to say that the most disturbing thing about death is that it removes everything you have from you. When an ally or friend moves far away people become sad. Imagining what happens when all those people, when all the things that bring you joy disappear... you become afraid. Everyone Fears Death. There is nothing else to it. The ones who say they don't, do. The factor is: Control. Control over your fears can make you unstoppable and give you a fearless image.
Overall. Death is nothing new and inevitable for humans. For me as well. When the universe closes I will die.
