Men and Make-Up

So this was inspired from the Girl's Room thread. Guys, what do you think when a girl wears make-up? Are you turned off? Indifferent? Turned on?

Most guys I'm sure will say they like girls with little or no make-up. But they only point out or openly drool over ones who do.

What is your honest opinion?

What bothers you the most? Powder making her skin look too artificial? Lip gloss getting in the way of a kiss?

What do you like? Eye shadow/Mascara? To bring out your lady's eyes more?

I think a lot of girls need a reality check on make-up when they wear so much of it that they end up looking fake. Personally I think, mascara is nice on girls and lip gloss is okay. The excess eye shadow is really not necessary.

I couldn't care less, because I'm not really attracted to conventional concepts of beauty.

Aesthetically speaking in everyday life though, it looks best when you can't be sure it's makeup, or APPEARS minimal. Like, lipstick maybe, maybe eyeshadow, and that totally makes it seem like the blush and crap is just natural.

I don't want to be mean, but International is right, and in my opinion, most girls look alright anyways. Make-up(from what I heard) is a way for females to fool the male eyes. I like girls w/without make-up, so it doesn't really matter that much to me. But when a girl just pours on the pounds of make-up and trying to hide her true identity is when it starts to get kind of scary, and then you know the girl is desperate. I'm currently flirting with a girl that wears a normal amount of make-up at school.

Absolutely true with most guys, they say "I prefer the natural look" but they don't even know what the "natural look" is because all the girls they're with put on a lot of make-up, they just don't know any better.

Guys think a lot of make up=girls who look like clowns. No, that just means the girl sucks at wearing make-up. You can wear a TON and look good and surprisingly natural.

Theres been a whole lot of surveys where guys have to look at abunch of pictures of a girl with different levels of make-up, and they always pick the one with the most.

Yes, I agree I am at a high school and most girls tend either to wear way too much make up or not enough. I think that make helps when used in the right amounts, and when it doesn't make her look fake 'you know the girls who CAKE it on' otherwise it tends to help.

If the girl in question was skillful enough to wear a lot of make up to pull off a natural look then who am I to criticize? If it works for her then it works for me.

 

I just hope she's not so good that when the make up comes off, a whole different person comes out. That would be freaky...

Yep, and at my high school, virtually every girl has make-up on. Some, just don't look right, but who am I to judge unless asked to?? Anyways, a prime example of a girl looking, "naturally good" without make-up is a girl that I know from Rite Aid pharmacy. With or without make up, what you'll notice is her big blue eyes. She doesn't need make-up to look good, in my opinion anyways.

Just to add on to this, that should speak to all of us about the concepts of so-called "natural" beauty and who among us decides what defines "beauty" in general.

it's good for accents, but to much of a good thing can be well make you look like a mime? I would just be careful and not leave a line along the jaw, neck or cheek. a makeup line is well, not attractive. um also its not nice to kiss a woad of claw tasting stuff (makeup).
there are some dress styles that do warrant substantial amounts of make up, one I can think of is a punk look. I think that is what it is. then I think its ok. but I do like girls who don't wear a lot of makeup.

I don't really wear make-up... I just look ill when I do. Most of my guy friends prefer a little bit, but they all seem to hate lip-gloss.

Yea, I thought it was also a thread on guys wearing make up. The title's misleading. I don't wear make up. In fact, I dislike it. It feels sticky. One time I had make up on, I looked in the mirror and I saw a ghost. That was the 1st and the last time I'm ever getting make up on my face. But make up helps in beautifying girls if they know how to apply it. Just don't end up looking like clowns.

I'm a girl but I only wear Eyeliner. Sometimes eyeshadow but thats all.
I feel like a doll putting foundation on and i don't need mascara.

Make-up on a girl can look lovely. But when a girl goes crazy with it, especially foundation or blush, it can look disastrous. So tone it down ladies.

Make-up helps a lot. Some girls can go with out it though, because they are naturally pretty. Most need make-up, because they look fugly with out it. I wear make-up myself and I'm a guy.

Of course make up applied correctly can always "enhance" the features of a woman. But personally, I hate getting makeup or lipstick on my lips I believe you can guess what I mean. And besides, I really do not care about makeups, don't tell me your wife will be wearing make up at home ~ which is majority of the time that you will be spending with her; Your woman should be pleasing to your eyes even without these products. I do not think women should feel the need to wear make up to "be" beautiful, with the right partner they will always feel beautiful regardless.
