Talking Cannot remember the names of these 2 manga films

both were shown on channel 4 about 10 years ago

    first film
It is about a military guy, who uses some maths formula to move the moon towards the earth, inorder to destroy the earth. This was one film, not a series. There can't be many anime with this plot.

    second film
Another anime film, not a series. This is about a boy who is stuck in a metropolis, and dreams to travel to this higher city. But it has a tragic ending when he is trying to go along this wire to this higher city. It has a memorable scene when he is going along this wire, but he does not make it.
I also remember seeing this anime film advertised on a video trailer.

Not sure about the first, but the second is Battle Angel Alita.

Thanks, I did not know the book series was quite popular for Battle Angel Alita.

Thanks for the quick reply, can anybody help me on the first film.

I have never seen anime be so stylish in the first film, so anime fans may want to know the name too!!!

I went through all 80's anime from wikipedia, then I saw this in all 90's anime:

    Doomed Megalopolis

Episode 4: The Battle for Tokyo

After the dragon under the city had been relieved so to speak Kato found another tool for his destruction. The dark Onmyoji employs all his powers to shift the path of the moon so that the force of its gravity will destroy Tokyo.

I even ordered an anime book, but I cannot cancel it now -

This DVD is my recommendation for ANIME FANS.
